Setup and Installation
Installation of the Intermatic T104 timer switch should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with all local and national electrical codes. Ensure power is disconnected at the main panel before servicing this switch or the equipment it controls.
Wiring Instructions:
The T104 is a Double Pole, Single Throw (DPST) switch. It controls two separate circuits or both lines of a 208-277V circuit. Refer to the wiring diagram located inside the enclosure for specific connections. Do not connect aluminum wires to switch terminals.
- Turn OFF power at the main panel before servicing.
- Open the timer enclosure.
- Identify the LINE (incoming power) and LOAD (outgoing power to appliance) terminals.
- Connect wires securely to the appropriate terminals. Ensure all connections are tight.
- Replace the insulator cover after wiring to prevent accidental contact.

Setting the Time:
- Pull out the clock dial slightly.
- Turn the dial clockwise until the current time aligns with the "SET TIME" arrow.
- Push the dial back in to engage the mechanism.
Setting ON/OFF Times:
- The timer comes with one ON (green) and one OFF (red) tripper.
- To set an ON or OFF time, loosen the screw on the tripper.
- Slide the tripper to the desired time on the clock dial.
- Tighten the screw to secure the tripper in place.
- Additional trippers (sold separately) can be added for up to 12 ON/OFF operations per day.

Operating Instructions
Manual Override:
The timer switch features a manual override lever. This lever allows you to temporarily turn the connected equipment ON or OFF without affecting the programmed schedule. Simply slide the lever to the desired position (ON or OFF). The timer will resume its programmed schedule at the next ON or OFF tripper event.

Maintenance
The Intermatic T104 is designed for durability and requires minimal maintenance. Periodically inspect the enclosure for any signs of damage or corrosion. Ensure the enclosure door is securely latched to protect internal components from dust and moisture. Keep the clock dial and trippers free from debris to ensure smooth operation.
If the clock motor stops turning, it may need replacement. The internal mechanism can often be replaced without needing to replace the entire enclosure.
Troubleshooting
- Equipment not turning ON/OFF at programmed times:
- Check if the ON/OFF trippers are securely fastened and positioned correctly on the dial.
- Ensure the current time on the dial is accurately set.
- Verify that the manual override lever is not in a position that prevents automatic operation.
- Confirm that power is supplied to the timer switch.
- Clock dial not moving:
- This indicates a potential issue with the clock motor. The motor may need to be replaced.
- Ensure the dial is pushed in fully after setting the time.
- Loose trippers:
- Tighten the tripper screws. Avoid overtightening to prevent damage to the dial. Finger-tightening is usually sufficient to keep them snug.
