Maintenance

The ABB THQL21100 circuit breaker is designed for minimal maintenance. However, periodic inspection is recommended.

  • Visual Inspection: Periodically inspect the breaker for any signs of physical damage, discoloration, or loose connections.
  • Cleaning: Keep the area around the circuit breaker clean and free from dust and debris. Do not use liquids for cleaning inside the electrical panel.
  • No User-Serviceable Parts: This device contains no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the circuit breaker. If a fault is suspected, replace the unit.

Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your circuit breaker, consider the following common troubleshooting steps. Always ensure power is disconnected before inspecting wiring.

  • Breaker Trips Frequently: If the breaker trips repeatedly, it indicates an overload or a short circuit in the connected circuit. Disconnect appliances or devices from the circuit to identify the cause. If the problem persists, consult a qualified electrician.
  • No Power to Circuit: Ensure the breaker is in the 'ON' position. If it is, and there is still no power, check for loose wiring connections at the breaker or in the circuit. If the issue remains, contact a professional.
  • Breaker Will Not Reset: If the breaker handle does not stay in the 'ON' position after being pushed to 'OFF' and then 'ON', there may still be an overload or a fault in the circuit, or the breaker itself may be faulty. Do not force the handle. Consult an electrician.
