2. Product Overview
The Sanyo VPC-S6 is a 6-megapixel digital still camera featuring a 3x optical zoom lens, a 2-inch LCD screen, and movie recording capabilities. It is designed for capturing high-quality still images and short video clips.

3. Setup
3.1 Installing Batteries

- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: For optimal performance, use fresh alkaline AA batteries. Rechargeable NiMH batteries may also be used.
3.2 Inserting a Memory Card
- Locate the memory card slot, typically near the battery compartment.
- Insert an SD or MMC memory card with the label facing the correct direction until it clicks into place.
- To remove the card, press it gently inward until it springs out, then pull it out.
The camera has 15MB of internal memory, but an SD/MMC card is recommended for extended shooting.
4. Operating the Camera
4.1 Powering On/Off
Press the Power button located on the top of the camera to turn it on or off. The lens will extend when powered on.
4.2 Taking Still Photos
- Turn on the camera.
- Frame your shot using the 2-inch LCD screen.
- Use the Zoom Lever to adjust the 3x optical zoom or 4x digital zoom.
- Press the Shutter Button halfway down to focus. The focus indicator will illuminate.
- Press the Shutter Button fully down to capture the image.
4.3 Recording Videos
- Turn on the camera and switch to movie mode (if applicable, refer to on-screen menu).
- Press the Shutter Button to start recording. The camera supports Quicktime 320x240 movie mode.
- Press the Shutter Button again to stop recording.
4.4 Using the Touch Sensor
The camera features a 'Touch Sensor' technology. Press the Touch Sensor Button to activate it. This allows for simplified control over exposure and focus with a single touch on the screen (if supported by the model's specific implementation, otherwise it refers to a physical sensor button for quick adjustments).
5. Maintenance
- Cleaning the Lens: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for camera lenses. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- Cleaning the Body: Wipe the camera body with a soft, dry cloth.
- Storage: Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if the camera will not be used for an extended period.
- Memory Card Care: Format memory cards periodically to maintain performance. Back up important photos and videos regularly.
6. Troubleshooting
Camera Does Not Power On
- Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity.
- Replace with fresh batteries.
- Check that the battery compartment cover is securely closed.
Cannot Take Photos
- Check if the memory card is inserted correctly and has sufficient free space.
- If using internal memory, ensure it is not full.
- Ensure the lens cap (if any) is removed.
- The camera may be in playback mode; switch to shooting mode.
Images Are Blurry
- Ensure the lens is clean.
- Press the shutter button halfway to allow the camera to focus before fully pressing.
- Hold the camera steady during shooting. The camera features digital and optical image stabilization to help reduce blur.
