2. Setup and Assembly

Assembly of your Methuss model kit requires careful attention to detail and patience. Follow the step-by-step instructions provided in the included instruction booklet.

2.1. Tools Required (Not Included)

  • Plastic Nippers: For cleanly cutting parts from the runners.
  • Hobby Knife: For trimming excess plastic (nubs) and fine detailing.
  • Tweezers: Useful for handling small parts and applying decals.
  • Sanding Sticks/Files: For smoothing cut surfaces.

2.2. Assembly Steps

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all plastic runners and the instruction booklet from the box.
  2. Review Instructions: Before cutting any parts, thoroughly read through the entire instruction booklet to understand the assembly flow and identify all parts.
  3. Cut Parts: Using plastic nippers, carefully cut each part from its runner. Cut slightly away from the part first, then make a second, closer cut to minimize stress marks.
  4. Clean Nubs: Use a hobby knife or sanding stick to carefully remove any remaining plastic nubs from the cut parts. This ensures a clean fit and appearance.
  5. Assemble Sections: Follow the numerical order in the instruction booklet to assemble individual sections (e.g., head, torso, arms, legs).
  6. Combine Sections: Once individual sections are complete, combine them to form the full mobile suit.
  7. Apply Decals/Stickers: If included, apply any decals or stickers as indicated in the instructions for added detail.

Important: Do not force parts together. If parts do not fit, re-check the instruction manual to ensure correct orientation and that all nubs have been removed.

3. Operating and Display

Once assembled, your Methuss model kit is ready for display and posing. The Methuss is designed with articulation to allow for various dynamic poses.

3.1. Posing and Articulation

  • Gently manipulate joints to achieve desired poses. Avoid excessive force to prevent breakage.
  • The Methuss model may feature a transformation gimmick into its mobile armor mode. Refer to the instruction manual for specific transformation steps.
  • Utilize the included accessories, such as beam rifles or shields, to enhance display options.

3.2. Display Recommendations

  • Display your model on a stable, flat surface away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
  • Consider using an action base (sold separately) for more dynamic aerial poses.

4. Maintenance and Care

Proper care will help preserve the appearance and integrity of your model kit for years to come.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry brush or a can of compressed air to gently remove dust. Avoid using water, cleaning solutions, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the plastic or paint (if applied).
  • Handling: Always handle the model by its main body parts. Avoid gripping small, delicate parts or accessories, which may break off.
  • Storage: If storing the model, keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature fluctuations. Original packaging or a sealed display case can provide protection.
  • Disassembly: If you need to disassemble parts, do so carefully and gently. Forcing parts apart can cause stress marks or breakage.

5. Troubleshooting

While BANDAI model kits are designed for precise assembly, minor issues can sometimes occur.

5.1. Common Issues and Solutions

  • Parts Don't Fit:
    • Ensure all nubs are completely removed from the part.
    • Verify the part orientation against the instruction manual.
    • Confirm you are using the correct part number for that step.
  • Loose Joints:
    • For slightly loose joints, a thin layer of clear topcoat or clear nail polish applied to the peg and allowed to dry can increase friction.
  • Broken Parts:
    • Small breaks can sometimes be repaired with plastic cement or super glue. Apply sparingly.
    • For significant breaks or missing parts, contact BANDAI customer support or the retailer for assistance.

Always refer to the original instruction manual for detailed assembly steps and part identification.
