Important Safety Information

  • Warning: This product is not a toy. Adult supervision is required when children are near the water feature.
  • Do not operate the pump without water. Dry running can cause damage.
  • Ensure the solar panel is positioned securely to prevent it from falling or being damaged.
  • Do not attempt to modify or repair the pump or solar panel. Contact customer support for assistance.
  • Keep the connection cable away from sharp objects, heat sources, and heavy foot traffic.

Setup Instructions

  1. Choose a Location: Select a location for your water feature that receives direct sunlight for most of the day. The solar panel requires full, unobstructed sunlight to operate the pump effectively.
  2. Position the Solar Panel:
    • Insert the ground stake into the back of the solar panel.
    • Place the solar panel in a sunny spot, ensuring it faces the sun directly. The 16.5-foot cable allows flexibility in placement, such as tucking it away in a side-yard or mounting it on a garage.
  3. Prepare the Pump:
    • Attach the desired fountain head and riser tubes to the pump outlet. The kit includes 4 different fountain heads for various spray patterns.
    • The pump can be set up in three ways:
      • Submerged: Place the pump directly at the bottom of your water feature.
      • Suction Cups: Attach the pump to a smooth surface at the bottom of your water feature using the integrated suction cups.
      • Floating: Attach the pump to the provided floating base and place it on the water surface.
  4. Connect the Pump to the Solar Panel: Plug the pump's connection cable into the socket on the back of the solar panel. Ensure a secure connection.
  5. Fill the Water Feature: Fill your bird bath or water feature with sufficient water to completely submerge the pump.
  6. Initial Operation: Once the solar panel receives direct sunlight, the pump will begin to operate, creating a fountain effect.

Operating Instructions

The Smart Solar SunJet 150 is designed for simple, automatic operation:

  • Direct Sunlight Operation: The pump will only operate when the solar panel is exposed to direct, full sunlight. Performance will vary with sunlight intensity.
  • No Battery Storage: This model does not include a battery for energy storage. The pump will stop working if clouds pass over the sun or at dusk.
  • Water Flow: The pump has a water flow capacity of up to 40 gallons per hour. The height and pattern of the fountain will depend on the chosen fountain head and the intensity of sunlight.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your solar water pump:

  • Clean the Pump Filter: Periodically remove the pump from the water and clean the filter to prevent blockages from debris, algae, or mineral deposits. A clogged filter will reduce pump performance.
  • Clean the Solar Panel: Wipe the solar panel surface with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, and bird droppings. A clean panel ensures maximum sunlight absorption.
  • Maintain Water Level: Ensure the water feature always has enough water to fully submerge the pump. Evaporation can quickly lower water levels, especially in direct sunlight.
  • Winter Storage: In freezing conditions, remove the pump and solar panel from the water feature. Clean them thoroughly and store them in a dry, frost-free location.
