5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment door on the bottom or side of the camera.
  2. Open the door by sliding or lifting the latch.
  3. Insert four (4) AA-size alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment door securely.

5.2. Memory Card Installation

The camera has 16 MB of internal memory. For extended storage, an SD (Secure Digital) memory card is recommended.

  1. Locate the memory card slot, typically near the battery compartment.
  2. Open the memory card slot cover.
  3. Insert an SD card with the metal contacts facing the correct direction, pushing until it clicks into place.
  4. Close the memory card slot cover.

5.3. Initial Power On

Press the power button to turn on the camera. The 1.6-inch LCD display will activate, and the camera will be ready for use.

6. Operating the Camera

6.1. Taking Photos

  1. Turn on the camera.
  2. Frame your shot using the 1.6-inch LCD display.
  3. Press the shutter button halfway down to allow the camera to focus.
  4. Press the shutter button fully to capture the image.

The camera features a 4.0-megapixel CCD sensor and a fixed 35mm-equivalent lens. You can select from three color modes: color, sepia, and black & white, typically found in the camera's menu settings.

6.2. Using Digital Zoom

The Kodak Easyshare C310 includes a 5x digital zoom function. While digital zoom can magnify your subject, it does so by enlarging pixels, which may result in a reduction of image quality, especially at higher zoom levels. For optimal image clarity, it is recommended to use digital zoom sparingly.

6.3. Reviewing Photos

To view captured images:

  1. Press the Review button (often indicated by a play icon).
  2. Use the navigation buttons to scroll through your photos on the LCD screen.
  3. Press the Review button again to exit review mode.

6.4. Connecting to a Computer

To transfer images to a computer:

  1. Ensure the Kodak EasyShare software is installed on your computer.
  2. Connect the camera to your computer using the provided USB cable.
  3. Turn on the camera. The computer should recognize the camera as a removable device.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts or use the EasyShare software to transfer your photos.

6.5. Using with a Printer Dock

The Kodak Easyshare C310 is compatible with Kodak Series 3 printer docks (sold separately). Refer to your printer dock's manual for specific connection and printing instructions.

7. Maintenance
