Operating Instructions

Brewing Drip Coffee:

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid of the coffee water reservoir and fill with desired amount of cold, fresh water. The water level indicator will guide you.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Swing out the filter holder. Place a paper filter (if desired) or use the reusable filter. Add your preferred amount of ground coffee (approximately 1 scoop per cup). Close the filter holder securely.
  3. Place Carafe: Ensure the 10-cup glass carafe is correctly positioned on the warming plate.
  4. Start Brewing: Plug in the machine. Turn the control dial to the "CAFFE" position. The illuminated switch will light up, indicating brewing has started.
  5. Serve: Once brewing is complete, the machine will keep the coffee warm. You can remove the carafe at any time during brewing using the "brew pause" feature.

Brewing Espresso:

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid of the espresso water reservoir and fill with cold, fresh water up to the desired level (max 4 cups).
  2. Add Espresso Grounds: Fill the espresso filter basket with finely ground espresso coffee. Tamp lightly. Attach the filter holder securely to the espresso head.
  3. Place Carafe: Position the 4-cup glass espresso carafe under the espresso spout.
  4. Start Brewing: Plug in the machine. Turn the control dial to the "ESPRESSO" position. The illuminated switch will light up.
  5. Monitor: Espresso will begin to brew. Stop the brewing process by turning the dial back to the "OFF" position once the desired amount is reached.

Frothing Milk:

  1. Prepare Milk: Fill a frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) up to about one-third full.
  2. Heat Steam: Ensure the espresso side has water. Turn the control dial to the "STEAM" position. Wait for the machine to heat up and produce a steady stream of steam.
  3. Froth: Submerge the steam nozzle just below the surface of the milk. Angle the pitcher slightly to create a swirling motion. Move the pitcher up and down to incorporate air and create foam.
  4. Finish: Once desired foam and temperature are achieved, turn the dial back to "OFF". Wipe the steam nozzle immediately with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your appliance.

  • Daily Cleaning:
    • After each use, wash the carafes, filter holder, and drip tray in warm, soapy water.
    • Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
    • Clean the steam nozzle immediately after frothing milk to prevent blockages.
  • Descaling:
    • Depending on water hardness, descale the machine every 2-3 months.
    • Use a commercial descaling solution or a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:1 ratio).
    • Run the descaling solution through both the coffee and espresso sides as if brewing.
    • Follow with several cycles of fresh water to rinse thoroughly.
  • Storage: Ensure the machine is clean and dry before storing. Store in a cool, dry place.
