2. Safety Information

WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD - Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.

Adult supervision is required during the ironing process. Keep hot irons and fused creations away from young children. Ensure proper ventilation when ironing beads.

4. Setup

Before beginning, ensure you have a clean, flat, heat-resistant surface to work on. Gather your Hama Midi Fuse Beads, a pegboard, and ironing paper. Prepare your household iron by setting it to a medium-hot temperature (cotton setting) without steam.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Create Your Design: Place the Hama Midi Fuse Beads onto the pegboard, one by one, to form your desired pattern or image. Ensure each bead is firmly seated on a peg.

Step 1: Hands placing colorful Hama beads onto a pegboard to form a parrot design

  2. Prepare for Ironing: Once your design is complete, carefully place a sheet of ironing paper over the entire bead design on the pegboard. Ensure the paper covers all beads.

  3. Iron the Beads (Adult Supervision Required): With the iron set to medium-hot (no steam), gently move the iron in a circular motion over the ironing paper for approximately 10-20 seconds. Apply light, even pressure. The beads will begin to fuse together. Lift the ironing paper periodically to check the fusion progress. Iron until the beads are fused but not completely flattened, maintaining their cylindrical shape.

Step 2: Hands holding an iron over ironing paper placed on a Hama bead design on a pegboard

  4. Cool and Remove: Allow the fused design to cool completely on the pegboard. Once cool, carefully peel the ironing paper off. Then, gently remove the fused design from the pegboard. If the design is large, you may wish to place a heavy book on it while cooling to prevent warping.

Step 3: Hands carefully removing a fused Hama bead parrot design from a pegboard

6. Maintenance

Store unused Hama Beads in a dry, cool place, preferably in a container with compartments to keep colors separated. Clean pegboards with a damp cloth if they become dusty. Fused creations can be gently wiped with a dry or slightly damp cloth if needed.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Beads not fusing: Increase iron temperature slightly or iron for a longer duration. Ensure ironing paper is correctly placed.
  • Beads flattening too much: Reduce iron temperature or iron for a shorter duration. Apply less pressure.
  • Design warping after removal: Allow the design to cool completely on the pegboard. For larger designs, place a heavy, flat object on top while cooling.
  • Beads sticking to ironing paper: Ensure the iron is not too hot. Use fresh ironing paper if it appears worn or sticky.
