4. Setup

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Inspect for any damage.
  2. Select Blade: Choose the desired slicing or julienne blade based on your recipe requirements. The mandolin comes with 2 slicing blades and 3 julienne blades.
  3. Insert Blade: Locate the blade slot on the mandolin base. Carefully slide the chosen blade into the slot until it clicks securely into place. Ensure the blade is fully seated and stable.
  4. Position Mandolin: Place the mandolin on a clean, dry, and stable surface. You may place a bowl or container underneath the cutting area to collect sliced food.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for safe and effective slicing:

  1. Prepare Food: Wash and peel your fruit or vegetable as needed. For longer items, you may need to cut them into manageable lengths that fit the mandolin's width.
  2. Attach Food to Holder: Securely attach the food item to the prongs of the safety food holder. Ensure the food is firmly gripped to prevent slipping during slicing.
  3. Begin Slicing: Hold the mandolin firmly with one hand. With the other hand, place the food holder with the attached food onto the mandolin's guide rail.
  4. Slide with Control: Apply gentle, even pressure downwards and slide the food holder back and forth over the blade. The blade will cut uniform slices with each forward stroke.
  5. Continue Slicing: Continue until the food item is almost entirely sliced, using the food holder to protect your fingers. Discard any small remaining pieces that cannot be safely sliced.

6. Blade Changing

To change blades safely:

  1. Ensure Safety: Always ensure the mandolin is clean and dry before changing blades. Wear cut-resistant gloves if available.
  2. Remove Current Blade: Carefully locate the release mechanism or tab for the installed blade. Gently push or pull the tab to unlock the blade. With extreme caution, slide the blade out of its slot. Avoid touching the sharp edges.
  3. Insert New Blade: Select the desired new blade. Align it with the blade slot and carefully slide it in until it clicks securely into place. Verify that it is firmly seated and does not wobble.
  4. Store Unused Blades: Store removed blades in a safe place, preferably in their original protective sleeves or a dedicated blade storage container, away from children.

Proper cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your mandolin slicer.
