Setup Guide
Follow these steps to set up your Audiovox DM9905-45 Portable CD Player.
1. Power Source Connection
Your unit can be powered by either batteries or the included AC power cord.
- Battery Installation: Open the battery compartment (location typically on the bottom or back of the unit). Insert the required number of "AA" batteries (not included) according to the polarity indicators (+/-). Close the compartment securely.
- AC Power: Connect the provided AC power cord to the DC IN jack on the unit and then plug the other end into a standard wall outlet. When using AC power, batteries are automatically bypassed.
2. Headphone Connection
For private listening, connect your headphones (included) to the PHONES jack on the unit. Ensure the plug is fully inserted.

Operating Instructions
Powering On/Off
To turn the unit on, press the POWER button or open the CD compartment. To turn off, press the POWER button again or close the CD compartment (if open).
CD Playback
- Open the CD compartment by sliding the latch.
- Carefully place a CD onto the spindle with the label side facing up.
- Close the CD compartment firmly until it clicks.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE (►/−) button to start playback.
- To pause, press PLAY/PAUSE once. Press again to resume.
- To skip to the next track, press the SKIP FORWARD (►►) button.
- To go back to the beginning of the current track or previous track, press the SKIP BACKWARD (◄◄) button.
- To stop playback, press the STOP (■) button.
- 45-Second Electronic Skip Protection (ESP): This feature helps prevent audio interruptions during movement. It automatically activates during CD playback.
- Repeat Function: Press the MODE/REPEAT button to cycle through repeat modes (e.g., repeat one track, repeat all tracks).
- Program Play: Refer to the detailed instructions in the full user manual for programming specific track orders.
AM/FM Radio Operation
- Press the BAND button to select either AM or FM radio.
- Use the TUNING (+/-) buttons to manually tune to your desired station.
- For automatic scanning, press and hold the TUNING (+/-) buttons for a few seconds.
- Preset Stations:
- To store a station: Tune to the desired station, then press and hold one of the preset buttons (M1-M5) until the display confirms storage.
- To recall a station: Press the corresponding preset button (M1-M5) briefly.
Volume Control
Adjust the listening volume using the VOLUME (+/-) controls, typically located on the side or front of the unit.
Water Resistance
This unit is designed to be water-resistant. While it can withstand splashes and light rain, it is not intended for submersion. Ensure all compartment covers (e.g., battery, CD) are securely closed to maintain water resistance. Do not expose to strong jets of water or immerse in water.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning the Unit: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- CD Care: Handle CDs by their edges. Keep them clean and free of scratches. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe CDs from the center outwards.
