2. Safety Instructions

4. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your Behringer MS16 monitors:
- Placement: Place the active (right) and passive (left) monitors on a stable, flat surface, equidistant from your listening position. Ensure they are at ear level for optimal sound reproduction.
- Connect Passive Speaker: Use the provided speaker connection cable to link the passive monitor to the active monitor. Connect one end to the speaker output on the active monitor and the other end to the input on the passive monitor.
- Connect Audio Source:
- For devices with RCA outputs (e.g., CD player, mixer), use the RCA stereo cable to connect to the RCA inputs on the active monitor.
- For devices with a 3.5mm (1/8") stereo output (e.g., computer, smartphone), use the 3.5mm stereo audio cable to connect to the 3.5mm input on the active monitor.
- For microphone or instrument input, use a 1/4" TS cable to connect to the dedicated jack input on the active monitor.
- Connect Power: Ensure the volume control on the active monitor is set to minimum. Connect the power cable to the active monitor and then to a suitable power outlet.

5. Operating
Familiarize yourself with the controls on the active MS16 monitor:
- Power Switch: Located on the active monitor, this switch turns the unit on or off.
- Volume Control: Adjusts the overall output volume of both speakers. Start with a low volume and gradually increase.
- Bass Control: Allows adjustment of the low-frequency response. Turn clockwise to increase bass, counter-clockwise to decrease.
- Treble Control: Allows adjustment of the high-frequency response. Turn clockwise to increase treble, counter-clockwise to decrease.
- Headphone Output: A 3.5mm (1/8") stereo jack on the front panel for private listening. Connecting headphones will mute the speakers.
- Microphone/Instrument Input: A 1/4" jack on the front panel for connecting a microphone or instrument. The level for this input can be adjusted via a dedicated knob.
Note: When using multiple audio sources, ensure the input levels are balanced to avoid distortion.
6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your MS16 monitors.
- Cleaning: Disconnect the power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surfaces. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Avoid Liquids: Keep the speakers away from water and other liquids. If liquid enters the unit, disconnect power immediately and contact service personnel.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the speakers in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Cables: Regularly check all cables for damage. Replace any frayed or damaged cables immediately.
