Setup
1. Battery Installation
Your Escali Primo Digital Food Scale requires 2 AA batteries, which are included. To install or replace batteries:
- Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert the 2 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
2. Initial Placement
Place the scale on a flat, stable, and level surface to ensure accurate readings. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
- To turn the scale on, press the On/Tare/Off button. The display will illuminate and show '0'.
- To turn the scale off, press and hold the On/Tare/Off button for a few seconds until the display turns off. The scale also features an automatic shut-off after four minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
2. Unit Selection
The Escali Primo Digital Food Scale can measure in ounces (oz), pounds and ounces (lb:oz), and grams (g).
- With the scale on, press the g/oz button to cycle through the available units. The selected unit will be displayed on the screen.

3. Tare Feature (Zero Function)
The Tare feature allows you to reset the scale to zero weight, enabling you to measure multiple ingredients in the same container or subtract the weight of a container.
- Place an empty container on the scale platform. The display will show its weight.
- Press the On/Tare/Off button. The display will reset to '0'.
- Add your ingredients to the container. The display will show only the weight of the added ingredients.
- Repeat the Tare process as needed for additional ingredients.

4. Weighing Items
To weigh an item, simply place it directly onto the scale platform or into a tared container. The weight will be displayed instantly.
