3.1 Unpacking

3.3 Placement

Place the coffeemaker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter. Ensure there is adequate clearance above the unit for the water reservoir lid to open fully.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Filling the Water Reservoir

  1. Remove the removable water reservoir from the coffeemaker.
  2. Fill the reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the desired cup marking using the water window as a guide. Do not exceed the 10-cup maximum fill line.
  3. Carefully place the filled water reservoir back onto the coffeemaker, ensuring it is seated correctly.

4.2 Adding Coffee Grounds

  1. Open the brew basket cover.
  2. Place a standard basket-style paper filter into the removable brew basket, or ensure the reusable filter (if included) is clean and in place.
  3. Add the desired amount of ground coffee. A general guideline is one tablespoon of coffee per cup, but adjust to personal preference.
  4. Close the brew basket cover securely.

4.3 Brewing Coffee

  1. Ensure the thermal carafe, with its lid securely attached, is placed correctly on the coffeemaker's base. The carafe lid must be aligned to engage the drip-stop mechanism.
  2. Plug the coffeemaker into an electrical outlet.
  3. Press the 'ON/OFF' button to start the brewing cycle. The indicator light will illuminate.
  4. The coffeemaker will automatically shut off after the brewing cycle is complete.

4.4 Using the Programmable Timer

The coffeemaker features a 24-hour programmable digital clock for delayed brewing.

  1. Setting the Clock: Press the 'PROG' button once. Use the 'HOUR' and 'MIN' buttons to set the current time. The clock will set automatically after a few seconds of inactivity.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Daily Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and taste.

  1. Always unplug the coffeemaker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Remove the brew basket and discard used coffee grounds and filter. Wash the brew basket in warm, soapy water or in the top rack of a dishwasher.

  4. Wipe the exterior surfaces of the coffeemaker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  5. The removable water reservoir can be washed in warm, soapy water and rinsed.

5.2 Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal)

Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffeemaker over time, affecting performance. Descale every 80 brews or monthly, depending on water hardness.

  1. Pour 4 cups of undiluted white vinegar into the water reservoir.
  2. Place an empty paper filter in the brew basket.
  3. Place the empty thermal carafe on the base.
  4. Brew the vinegar solution through the coffeemaker as if brewing coffee.
  5. Turn off the coffeemaker and let it soak for at least 15 minutes.
  6. Discard the vinegar solution from the carafe and brew basket.
  7. Fill the water reservoir with fresh, clean water and run a full brewing cycle to rinse.
  8. Repeat the fresh water rinse cycle at least two more times to ensure all vinegar residue is removed.
