Setup and Installation

1. Choose a Location: Select a suitable outdoor location near a 120V AC power outlet. The transformer should be mounted vertically with the output terminals facing downwards, at least 1 foot above ground level.
2. Mounting: Secure the transformer to a wall or sturdy post using appropriate mounting hardware (not included). The unit has a hanger on the back for easy installation.
3. Wiring Input (120V AC): Plug the transformer's power cord into a grounded 120V AC outdoor receptacle. Ensure the receptacle is protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI).
4. Wiring Output (12V AC):
   • Route your low-voltage landscape lighting cable from your fixtures to the transformer.
   • Strip approximately 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of the low-voltage cable wires.
   • Connect the low-voltage wires to the transformer's 12V output terminals. Ensure a secure connection.
   • Verify that the total wattage of all connected lights does not exceed 44 watts.
5. Initial Power On: Once all connections are secure, restore power to the outlet. The transformer should power on.

Operation

Setting the Timer

The ML44T features a mechanical timer with a 24-hour dial. To program the on/off cycles:

1. Set Current Time: Rotate the dial clockwise until the current time aligns with the "TIME SET" arrow.
2. Insert Trippers:
   • Insert the "ON" trippers into the dial at the desired time you want your lights to turn on.
   • Insert the "OFF" trippers into the dial at the desired time you want your lights to turn off.
   • Multiple on/off cycles can be programmed using additional trippers.
3. Activate Timer: Ensure the manual override switch is in the "TIMER" position. The lights will now operate according to your programmed schedule.

Manual Override

The transformer includes a manual override switch for temporary control:

• "ON" Position: Lights will remain on continuously, overriding the timer.
• "OFF" Position: Lights will remain off continuously, overriding the timer.
• "TIMER" Position: Lights will operate according to the programmed on/off cycles.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the transformer with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
• Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord and low-voltage wiring for any signs of damage, fraying, or loose connections. Address any issues immediately.
• Resetting After Power Outage: In the event of a power outage, the mechanical timer will stop. You will need to reset the current time on the dial once power is restored to maintain accurate programming.
