Maintenance

The Mighty Mule FM137 keypad is designed for durability and minimal maintenance.

1. Battery Replacement

The keypad requires three (3) AA alkaline batteries. Replace batteries when the keypad's performance diminishes or the status indicator light signals low power. Battery life can vary based on usage and environmental conditions.

2. Cleaning

Clean the keypad surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.

3. Weather Protection

The keypad features a weatherproof design. However, ensuring it is properly mounted and protected from direct, prolonged exposure to extreme weather conditions can extend its lifespan.

Troubleshooting

  • Keypad not responding: Check battery levels and replace if necessary. Ensure the keypad is within the operational range (50 feet) of the gate opener control box.
  • Gate not opening/closing: Verify that the correct PIN code is being entered. Check for any obstructions in the gate's path. Ensure the gate opener itself is functioning correctly.
  • Intermittent operation: This could indicate low battery power or interference. Try replacing batteries and ensuring no new sources of radio frequency interference are near the keypad or gate opener.
