1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Quantum QZA2100D Mono QZA Amplifier. Please read this manual thoroughly before attempting to install or operate the amplifier to ensure proper use and to prevent damage.
1.1 Safety Instructions
- Always disconnect the vehicle's battery negative terminal before starting any installation.
- Ensure all wiring is properly routed and secured to prevent pinching or damage.
- Use appropriate gauge wiring for power and ground connections as specified.
- Avoid installing the amplifier in locations exposed to direct sunlight, excessive heat, moisture, or dust.
- Consult a professional installer if you are unsure about any part of the installation process.

4. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and safety. If you are not confident in your ability to install this product, please seek professional assistance.
4.1 Mounting Location
Choose a mounting location that is dry, well-ventilated, and protected from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Ensure there is sufficient space around the amplifier for air circulation. Avoid mounting on carpeted surfaces directly, as this can impede heat dissipation.
4.2 Wiring Connections
Refer to the diagram below for proper wiring connections. All connections should be secure and insulated to prevent short circuits.

4.2.1 Power and Ground Connections
- Power (B+): Connect a heavy gauge wire (e.g., 4 AWG or larger, depending on power requirements) directly from the positive terminal of the vehicle's battery to the B+ terminal on the amplifier. Install an appropriate fuse (e.g., 60A, as indicated on the amplifier) within 18 inches of the battery.
- Ground (GND): Connect a heavy gauge wire of the same size as the power wire from the GND terminal on the amplifier to a clean, unpainted metal surface of the vehicle chassis. Ensure a good electrical connection.
- Remote (REM): Connect a smaller gauge wire (e.g., 18 AWG) from the remote output of your head unit to the REM terminal on the amplifier. This wire turns the amplifier on and off with your head unit.
4.2.2 Audio Input Connections
Connect RCA cables from the pre-amp outputs of your head unit to the RCA input jacks on the amplifier. Ensure left and right channels are connected correctly.
4.2.3 Speaker Output Connections
Connect your subwoofer(s) to the speaker output terminals on the amplifier. Pay close attention to polarity (+ to + and - to -). This is a mono amplifier, designed for a single subwoofer or multiple subwoofers wired to a single channel. Ensure the total impedance of your speaker configuration matches the amplifier's capabilities (e.g., 1 Ohm stable).
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Initial Power-Up and Gain Adjustment
- After all connections are made, reconnect the vehicle's battery.
- Turn on your head unit. The amplifier should power on (indicated by a power LED).
- Set the head unit volume to about 75% of its maximum.
- Slowly increase the gain control on the amplifier (labeled "Input Level Control" or "Gain") until you hear distortion, then back it off slightly. This sets the amplifier's input sensitivity to match your head unit's output.
5.2 Crossover and Bass Boost Settings
The QZA2100D is a mono amplifier, typically used for subwoofers. It will likely have a Low Pass Filter (LPF) and potentially a Subsonic Filter and Bass Boost.
- Low Pass Filter (LPF): Adjust this control to filter out high frequencies from reaching your subwoofer. A common setting for subwoofers is between 80Hz and 120Hz. Experiment to find the best blend with your main speakers.
- Subsonic Filter: (If present) This filter removes extremely low frequencies that are below the audible range and can cause your subwoofer to waste power and potentially damage it. Set it slightly below your LPF setting, or around 20-30Hz.
- Bass Boost: Use this control sparingly. Excessive bass boost can lead to distortion and potential damage to your subwoofer. Adjust it to enhance bass response if desired, but always listen for signs of distortion.
6. Maintenance
The Quantum QZA2100D amplifier requires minimal maintenance. Keep the amplifier clean and free of dust. Periodically check all wiring connections to ensure they are secure. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on the amplifier's surface.
