3. Setup
- Assemble the Game Board: Unfold the game board and place it on a flat surface. Arrange the individual room cards or sections of the board as indicated in the game's visual guide to form the complete house layout.
- Choose Game Pieces: Each player selects one game piece and places it on the designated starting space, usually at the bottom floor of the house.
- Prepare Picture Cards: Shuffle all the picture cards thoroughly and place them face down in a draw pile next to the game board.
- Determine First Player: The youngest player typically starts, or players can roll the die to decide who goes first.

4. Operating Instructions (How to Play)
The objective of the game is to be the first player to reach the attic of the Spielhaus.
- Player's Turn: On your turn, roll the die.
- Move Your Piece: Move your game piece forward along the path in the house according to the number rolled on the die.
- Star Symbol Action: If you roll the special star symbol on the die, your turn changes:
- Draw one picture card from the face-down pile.
- Carefully examine the object depicted on the card.
- Search for this exact object within the rooms illustrated on the game board.
- If you successfully find the object, you may immediately move your game piece to the space where that object is located. This can allow for significant jumps forward.
- If you cannot find the object, or if you identify the wrong object, you must move your game piece back one space as a penalty.
- End of Turn: After moving your piece or completing the star symbol action, your turn ends, and play passes to the next player in a clockwise direction.
- Winning the Game: The first player to reach the final space in the attic of the Spielhaus wins the game.
5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity of your Ravensburger Spielhaus game:
- Storage: Store all game components in their original box in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
- Cleaning: Wipe game pieces and the board with a soft, dry cloth. For minor spills, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure components are completely dry before storing. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Handling: Handle cards and game pieces gently to prevent bending, tearing, or damage.
