Setup

2. Instrument Connection: Connect your instrument's Piezo-style pickup to the Input jack on the preamp using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
3. Output Connection: Connect the Output jack of the preamp to your amplifier, mixer, or audio interface using another standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
4. Secure Placement: Utilize the integrated stainless-steel belt clip to attach the preamp to your belt, strap, or instrument case for convenient access during performance.

Operating Instructions

Once the Fishman G-II is connected, you can begin adjusting your sound.

1. Initial Settings: Start with the Bass, Treble, and Volume sliders set to their center (neutral) positions.
2. Adjusting Volume: Slowly increase the Volume slider to achieve the desired output level. Be mindful of feedback, especially at high volumes.
3. Tone Shaping (Bass & Treble):
   • Move the Bass slider up to increase low-end frequencies for a fuller sound, or down to reduce muddiness.
   • Move the Treble slider up to add clarity and brightness, or down to soften harsh high frequencies.
   Experiment with these controls to find the optimal tone for your instrument and playing style.
4. Power On/Off: The unit powers on automatically when an instrument cable is inserted into the input jack. To conserve battery life, always disconnect the input cable when the preamp is not in use.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Battery Replacement: Replace the 9V battery when the sound becomes weak or distorted, or if the unit fails to power on. Always use a fresh, high-quality alkaline battery.
• Storage: Store the preamp in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove the battery if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
