Setup

Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove the CDN25+G from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage that may have occurred during transit. If any damage is found, contact your dealer immediately.

Rack Mounting

The CDN25+G is designed for standard 19-inch rack mounting. The control unit occupies 2U of rack space, and the drive unit occupies 2U. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit when mounting.

Connections

  1. Audio Output: Connect the RCA audio outputs (L/R) from the CDN25+G to the corresponding inputs on your mixer or amplifier.
  2. Video Output (CD+G): Connect the composite RCA video outputs (Video 1 and Video 2) to a video mixer, monitor, or TV. These outputs will display karaoke lyrics and graphics when playing CD+G discs.
  3. Digital Output: For digital audio connection, use the S/PDIF digital output to a compatible digital audio receiver or interface.
  4. Control Cable: Connect the multi-pin control cable from the control unit to the drive unit.
  5. Power: Connect the supplied AC power cable to the CDN25+G and then to a standard AC power outlet.

Ensure all connections are secure before powering on the unit.

Operating Instructions

Loading a CD

  1. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the desired deck to open the disc tray.
  2. Place a CD (audio CD or CD-R) or CD+G disc onto the tray with the label side facing up.
  3. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the tray. The unit will read the disc.

Basic Playback

CD+G Display

When playing a CD+G disc, the lyrics and graphics will automatically be displayed on the connected video monitor or TV via the composite RCA video outputs. Ensure your video connections are correctly made as described in the Setup section.

Pitch Control

The CDN25+G features a pitch control slider. Move the slider up or down to adjust the playback speed and pitch of the audio. The pitch can be adjusted by ±8% or ±16%, selectable via a switch.

Interactive Pitch/Search Wheel

The large, interactive wheel can be used for precise pitch bending during playback or for searching within a track when paused. Rotate the wheel to scrub through the audio or fine-tune the playback speed.

Auto Cue

The Auto Cue feature automatically cues the track to the point where audio begins, eliminating dead air at the start of a track. This function is typically enabled by default.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Unit

Wipe the exterior of the CDN25+G with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or internal components. Avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the unit.

Disc Care

Handle CDs by their edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches. Store discs in their cases when not in use. A clean disc ensures optimal playback performance and extends the life of the unit's laser.

Sleep Mode

The CDN25+G features a sleep mode designed to save laser life. When the unit is idle for an extended period, it may enter a low-power state. This is normal operation and helps preserve the longevity of the laser assembly.
