Setup

1. Battery Installation

Open the battery compartment and insert two (2) AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.

2. Food Loading

Remove the food drum from the unit. Open the drum and fill it with your preferred dry fish food, such as flakes or pellets. Ensure not to overfill the drum to allow for proper dispensing. Close the drum and reattach it to the feeder unit.

3. Mounting Options

The Nutramatic 2X offers versatile installation:

  • Free-standing: Place the feeder on a flat surface near the aquarium.
  • Rim Mountable: Use the included clamp to secure the feeder to the rim of your aquarium.
  • Canopy Fitting: The feeder is designed to fit into certain aquarium canopies.

4. Initial Test Rotation

Once batteries are installed, the unit will perform one full test rotation. The food dispensing opening will remain in the default position, facing upwards, when it is not actively dispensing. It will take 12 hours before the regular 12-hour dispensing cycle commences.

Operating Instructions

1. Setting Food Quantity

The amount of food dispensed from the drum can be adjusted. Use the control mechanism on the feeder to set the desired portion size for your fish.

2. Feeding Schedule

The Nutramatic 2X is programmed to feed every 12 hours, providing two automatic feedings per day. This consistent schedule is beneficial for your fish's health and well-being.

3. Anti-Humidity Door

The feeder is equipped with an anti-humidity door that helps prevent moisture from entering the food drum, keeping the fish food dry and preventing clumping.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning of your Nutramatic 2X feeder is essential for optimal performance and hygiene. Disassemble the food drum and any removable parts. Clean them with warm water and a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Rinse thoroughly and ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling. Do not immerse the main electronic unit in water.

Troubleshooting

  • Feeder not dispensing food: Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Ensure the food drum is not jammed or overfilled. Verify that the food type (flakes or pellets) is suitable for the feeder.
  • Inconsistent food dispensing: Ensure the fish food is dry and not clumping due to humidity. Adjust the food quantity setting to a suitable level.
  • Unit not turning on: Verify that the batteries are new or fully charged and inserted with the correct polarity.
