Operating Instructions
Once the pump is properly installed and connected to the water system, plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The pump is designed for continuous operation (24/7 performance). Ensure the pump is always submerged in water if used in a submerged application, or properly primed if used inline, to prevent dry running which can damage the unit.
Monitor the water flow to ensure optimal performance. If flow decreases, refer to the Maintenance or Troubleshooting sections.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your Pondmaster Pond-Mag pump.
- Pre-Filter Cleaning: Periodically remove and clean the rigid pre-filter to prevent clogging and maintain optimal water flow. Rinse with clean water.
- Impeller Inspection: If flow is significantly reduced, disconnect power and inspect the magnetic impeller assembly for debris or blockages. Carefully remove any obstructions.
- Shaft Lubrication: Apply silicone grease to the ceramic shaft and rubber O-ring during reassembly to ensure smooth operation and seal integrity.
- Winterization: In freezing climates, remove the pump from the water feature before the first freeze. Clean thoroughly and store in a frost-free location.
