Setup
Understanding Your Blender Components
- Motor Base: Contains the motor and control dial.
- Blender Jar: 48-ounce plastic container for ingredients.
- Blade Assembly: Stainless steel blades located at the bottom of the jar.
- Lid: Covers the blender jar during operation.
- Filler Cap: Small removable cap in the lid for adding ingredients while blending.
Assembly Instructions
- Place the motor base on a clean, dry, and stable surface.
- Ensure the blade assembly is securely attached to the bottom of the blender jar.
- Place the blender jar onto the motor base, aligning the jar's base with the motor base. The jar should sit firmly.
- Place the lid securely on the blender jar. Ensure the filler cap is inserted into the lid opening.
Operating Instructions
Before First Use
Before using your blender for the first time, wash the blender jar, lid, and filler cap in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth.
Blending
- Ensure the blender is unplugged before adding ingredients.
- Add ingredients to the blender jar. Do not fill past the 48-ounce (6-cup) mark. For best results, add liquids first, then soft foods, then hard foods, and finally ice.
- Securely place the lid on the jar and insert the filler cap.
- Plug the blender into a standard electrical outlet.
- Turn the rotary dial to the desired speed setting (1-8) or to the 'P' (Pulse) setting for short bursts of power.
- Once blending is complete, turn the dial to 'OFF' and unplug the blender.
- Remove the lid and carefully pour out the blended contents.
Speed Settings
- Speeds 1-8: Provide continuous blending for various consistencies, from gentle mixing to powerful pureeing.
- Pulse (P): Offers short bursts of power at the highest speed, ideal for chopping, crushing ice, or controlling consistency. Release the dial to return to 'OFF'.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Blender Jar and Lid
- Unplug the blender before cleaning.
- Remove the blender jar from the motor base.
- Remove the lid and filler cap.
- Wash the jar, lid, and filler cap in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
- For stubborn residue, fill the jar halfway with warm water and a drop of dish soap. Place the lid on, secure the jar on the base, and run on a low speed for a few seconds. Empty, rinse, and dry.
- The blade assembly can be carefully removed for more thorough cleaning if necessary. Handle blades with extreme caution as they are sharp.
Cleaning the Motor Base
Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the motor base in water or any other liquid. Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Blender does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power outlet not working; jar not properly seated. | Ensure blender is securely plugged in. Check power outlet with another appliance. Verify blender jar is correctly seated on the motor base. |
| Ingredients are not blending smoothly. | Too little liquid; too many ingredients; ingredients are too large. | Add more liquid. Reduce the amount of ingredients. Cut ingredients into smaller pieces. Use the Pulse function for better control. |
| Blender leaks from the bottom of the jar. | Blade assembly not tightened; gasket missing or improperly placed. | Ensure the blade assembly is securely tightened to the jar. Check that the gasket is correctly positioned between the blade assembly and the jar. |
| Motor smells or overheats. | Overloaded; continuous operation for too long. | Reduce the amount of ingredients. Allow the blender to cool down for at least 10-15 minutes before resuming use. Do not operate continuously for more than 2 minutes. |
