Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective use of your BIG RED T92003B Torin Hydraulic Welded Bottle Jack. This hydraulic bottle jack is designed for residential and commercial lifting applications, offering a 20-ton (40,000 lb) capacity. It features a robust welded construction, a high-quality glide-action pressure pump, and integrated safety mechanisms. Please read this manual thoroughly before operation to ensure proper usage and to prevent injury or damage.
Safety Information
WARNING: Failure to heed these warnings may result in personal injury and/or property damage. Always prioritize safety when operating hydraulic lifting equipment.
- Read and Understand: Before operating, thoroughly read and understand all instructions and warnings provided in this manual and on the product labels.
- Rated Capacity: Never exceed the rated capacity of 20 tons (40,000 lbs). Overloading can cause jack failure and severe injury.
- Stable Surface: Always use the jack on a hard, level surface capable of supporting the load.
- Support the Load: After lifting, immediately support the vehicle or load with appropriate jack stands. Never work under a load supported only by the jack.
- Proper Placement: Position the jack saddle only on the vehicle or load's lifting points as specified by the manufacturer.
- Clearance: Ensure adequate clearance for lifting and lowering operations. Keep hands and feet clear of moving parts.
- Personnel: Do not get under or allow anyone under the vehicle until it has been properly supported by jack stands.
- Inspect Before Use: Always inspect the jack for damage or leaks prior to each use. Do not use if damaged or leaking.
- Intended Use: This jack is designed for lifting vehicles, farm equipment, heavy-duty machinery, and industrial equipment. Do not use it for any other purpose.
- Proposition 65 Warning: This product may expose you to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, visit www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

Setup
- Unpacking and Inspection: Carefully remove the jack from its packaging. Inspect for any visible damage or signs of hydraulic fluid leakage. Do not use if damaged.
- Bleeding the Hydraulic System: Before first use, or if the jack has been stored horizontally, it may be necessary to bleed air from the hydraulic system. To do this:
- Open the release valve by turning it counter-clockwise approximately one full turn.
- Remove the oil filler plug.
- Pump the handle several times to purge air.
- Replace the oil filler plug and close the release valve by turning it clockwise until snug.
- Handle Assembly: Insert the two-piece handle into the handle socket on the jack. Ensure it is securely seated.
Operating Instructions
Lifting a Load
- Ensure the load is stable and on a firm, level surface. Chock any wheels that will remain on the ground.
- Position the jack directly under the designated lifting point of the load. The saddle should be centered and make full contact.
- Close the release valve firmly by turning the handle clockwise until it is snug. Do not overtighten.
- Pump the handle up and down to raise the jack. The glide-action pressure pump is designed for minimal effort.
- Raise the load to the desired height. Do not exceed the maximum lifting height or the jack's capacity.
- Immediately place appropriately rated jack stands under the load at its designated support points.
- Slowly open the release valve to lower the load onto the jack stands.
Lowering a Load
- Ensure the area around the load is clear of personnel and obstructions.
- If the load is on jack stands, slightly raise the load with the jack to remove pressure from the stands, then remove the jack stands.
- Slowly turn the release valve counter-clockwise to lower the load. Control the descent rate by adjusting how much the valve is opened.
- Once the load is fully lowered, remove the jack.

Maintenance
- Hydraulic Oil: The jack uses high-quality hydraulic oil for optimal performance. This oil offers corrosion resistance and maintains flexibility across a wide temperature range (40°F to 105°F). Check the oil level periodically and refill if necessary using only recommended hydraulic jack oil.
- Cleaning: Keep the jack clean and free of dirt, grease, and debris. Wipe down the ram and pump mechanism after each use.
- Lubrication: Periodically lubricate moving parts with light machine oil.
- Storage: Store the jack in a dry, protected area with the ram fully retracted to prevent corrosion and extend seal life.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the jack for any signs of wear, damage, or leaks. Pay close attention to the piston ram and seals. The Y-style polyurethane sealing ring with a backup ring is designed to prevent slow load descent, but wear can occur over time.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Jack does not lift load or lifts slowly. | Air in hydraulic system; Low oil level; Release valve not fully closed; Damaged seals. | Bleed the hydraulic system (see Setup); Check and refill oil; Ensure release valve is fully closed; Contact service for seal replacement. |
| Load descends slowly or rapidly. | Release valve not properly adjusted; Internal leak; Damaged seals. | Adjust release valve carefully; Contact service for inspection and repair. |
| Oil leakage. | Loose fittings; Damaged seals; Over-loosened release valve. | Tighten fittings; Contact service for seal replacement; Ensure release valve is only opened enough to lower the load, do not unscrew excessively. |
| Jack handle does not pump. | Low oil level; Air in system; Pump mechanism issue. | Check and refill oil; Bleed the system; Contact service. |
