2. Setup and Preparation
Before application, identify areas with standing water where mosquito larvae are present or likely to occur. This product is designed for use in non-potable water sources.
2.1 Application for Mosquito Larvae Control
For mosquito larvae control, sprinkle one teaspoon of Mosquito Bits per 25 square feet of water surface, or one tablespoon per 75 square feet. For larger areas, use 1/2 lb per 2178 square feet. Apply uniformly over the surface of the containerized standing water.
2.2 Application for Fungus Gnat Larvae Control
For fungus gnat larvae control, sprinkle or spread the granules over the soil surface of affected plants until the area is covered. Water the plants after application; the water will release the active ingredient (Bti) into the soil, where it will target and eliminate fungus gnat larvae.

3. Operating Instructions
Mosquito Bits are effective in various standing water environments. The active ingredient, Bacillus Thuringiensis Subsp. Israelensis (Bti), specifically targets mosquito and fungus gnat larvae without harming other organisms.
3.1 Recommended Application Areas for Mosquito Larvae:
- Water Gardens & Pools
- Flower Pots & Saucers
- Bird Baths & Rain Barrels
- Ditches, Gutters & Old Tires
- Animal Watering Troughs
- Tree holes
- Unused swimming pools
This product kills larvae of mosquitoes that may transmit diseases such as Zika and West Nile Virus.
3.2 Safety Considerations:
Mosquito Bits can be used safely around people, pets, plants, and fish. Do not apply to finished or treated human drinking water sources.

4. Maintenance and Reapplication
For continuous control of mosquito larvae, reapply Mosquito Bits every 7 to 14 days. Longer periods of mosquito suppression may be achieved with the subsequent use of Mosquito Dunks®.
For fungus gnat control, repeat the application process once a week for a total of three weeks to ensure all emerging larvae are targeted. If fungus gnats reappear, simply repeat the process.
5. Troubleshooting
If mosquito or fungus gnat populations persist after initial application, consider the following:
- Insufficient Coverage: Ensure the granules are spread uniformly over the entire water surface or soil area.
- Reapplication Frequency: Verify that the product is being reapplied within the recommended 7 to 14-day interval for mosquitoes, or weekly for three weeks for fungus gnats.
- New Breeding Sites: Check for new sources of standing water or new plants that may have introduced pests.
- Product Efficacy: Ensure the product has not expired and has been stored correctly.
