Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your kettle.
- Before Cleaning: Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the brushed stainless steel finish. The product care instructions specify "Hand wash, Wipe clean".
- Interior Cleaning/Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. The kettle features a washable limestone scale filter. To clean the filter, remove it from the spout and rinse under running water. For descaling the kettle interior:
- Fill the kettle with a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and then let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy scale.
- Empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly with fresh water several times.
- If necessary, repeat the process. Commercial descaling solutions can also be used following their instructions.
- Storage: When not in use, store the kettle in a dry place. The power base has cord storage to keep the cord tidy.
