Operating Instructions
Recording Audio
- Ensure a blank or recordable cassette tape is loaded.
- Select your desired recording speed (Normal or Two-Speed) using the speed switch. Two-speed recording allows for longer recording times on a single tape at reduced audio quality.
- To use Voice Activated System (VAS), set the VAS switch to the ON position. The recorder will automatically start recording when sound is detected and pause when silence occurs.
- Press the RECORD button (usually red) simultaneously with the PLAY button. The Record LED indicator will illuminate.
- Speak into the built-in microphone or place the recorder near the audio source.
- To stop recording, press the STOP/EJECT button.
Playing Back Audio
- Ensure a recorded cassette tape is loaded.
- Press the PLAY button. Audio will play through the built-in speaker.
- Adjust the volume using the VOLUME CONTROL dial/slider.
- To listen privately, plug 3.5mm headphones into the HEADPHONE JACK. The built-in speaker will mute automatically.
- Use the FAST FORWARD and REWIND buttons to navigate through the tape.
- To pause playback, press the PAUSE button. Press it again to resume.
- To stop playback, press the STOP/EJECT button.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Tape Heads: Periodically clean the tape heads, capstan, and pinch roller with a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. This helps maintain optimal sound quality.
- Battery Care: Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Storage: Store the recorder in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
