Product Overview

The Thomson CS550 is a compact audio system designed for versatile music playback. It features a 5-disc CD changer, compatibility with CD-R and CD-RW discs, a full logic drive, and a powerful audio output. The system includes an RDS radio tuner, a 5-preset equalizer, and a bass booster function for enhanced sound. The two-way bass-reflex speakers are equipped with titanium woofers.

Setup Instructions

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Placement: Place the main unit and speakers on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
  3. Speaker Connection: Connect the speaker wires from the main unit to the corresponding terminals on the back of each speaker. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -).
  4. Antenna Connection: Connect the FM antenna (if provided) to the FM antenna terminal on the rear of the main unit. Extend the antenna for optimal reception.
  5. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into the AC inlet on the main unit, then plug the other end into a wall outlet.
  6. Initial Power On: Press the POWER button on the main unit or remote control to turn on the system.

Operating Instructions

CD Playback

  1. Press the CD button to select CD mode.
  2. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the CD tray.
  3. Place up to five CDs onto the disc changer trays with the label side facing up.
  4. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the tray.
  5. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playback. Use the SKIP buttons to navigate tracks.

Radio Operation (FM/AM)

  1. Press the TUNER/BAND button to select FM or AM radio mode.
  2. Press the TUNE +/- buttons to manually tune to a station.
  3. Press and hold TUNE +/- for automatic scanning to the next available station.
  4. To preset a station, tune to the desired frequency, then press MEMORY followed by a preset number button.

Auxiliary Input

Connect external audio devices (MP3 player, smartphone, PC) to the AUX IN jack on the front or rear panel using an appropriate audio cable.

  1. Connect your external device to the AUX IN port.
  2. Press the AUX button on the main unit or remote control to select the auxiliary input.
  3. Start playback on your connected device.
