The Thomson CS550 is a compact audio system designed for versatile music playback. Setup Instructions
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Placement: Place the main unit and speakers on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Speaker Connection: Connect the speaker wires from the main unit to the corresponding terminals on the back of each speaker. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -).
- Antenna Connection: Connect the FM antenna (if provided) to the FM antenna terminal on the rear of the main unit. Extend the antenna for optimal reception.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into the AC inlet on the main unit, then plug the other end into a wall outlet.
- Initial Power On: Press the POWER button on the main unit or remote control to turn on the system.
Operating Instructions
CD Playback
- Press the CD button to select CD mode.
- Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the CD tray.
- Place up to five CDs onto the disc changer trays with the label side facing up.
- Press the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the tray.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playback. Use the SKIP buttons to navigate tracks.
Radio Operation (FM/AM)
- Press the TUNER/BAND button to select FM or AM radio mode.
- Press the TUNE +/- buttons to manually tune to a station.
- Press and hold TUNE +/- for automatic scanning to the next available station.
- To preset a station, tune to the desired frequency, then press MEMORY followed by a preset number button.
Auxiliary Input
Connect external audio devices (MP3 player, smartphone, PC) to the AUX IN jack on the front or rear panel using an appropriate audio cable.
- Connect your external device to the AUX IN port.
- Press the AUX button on the main unit or remote control to select the auxiliary input.
- Start playback on your connected device.
Sound Adjustment
- Volume: Use the VOLUME +/- buttons on the unit or remote control.
- Equalizer: Press the EQ button repeatedly to cycle through the 5 sound presets (e.g., Rock, Pop, Jazz, Classic, Flat).
- Bass Booster: Press the BASS BOOST button to activate or deactivate the bass enhancement feature.
Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning the Unit: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
