4.1 Setting the Current Time
- Rotate the inner dial clockwise until the current time aligns with the 'TIME' arrow indicator. The dial is marked for 24 hours (12 AM to 12 PM).
4.2 Programming the Timer
The timer uses small, removable trippers to set the ON and OFF times. Two sets of trippers are included.
- Insert the 'ON' tripper (typically red or a distinct color) into the desired ON time slot on the outer edge of the dial.
- Insert the 'OFF' tripper (typically black or a distinct color) into the desired OFF time slot.
- Ensure the trippers are securely seated in the dial. The timer will activate and deactivate the lighting system according to these settings.
4.3 Manual ON/OFF Override
A manual ON/OFF switch is located above the timer dial. This switch allows you to override the programmed timer settings.
- To turn the lights ON manually, push the switch to the 'ON' position.
- To turn the lights OFF manually, push the switch to the 'OFF' position.
- To return to programmed timer operation, set the switch to the 'TIMER' position (usually the center position).
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your power pack.
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the unit with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
- Connection Check: Annually inspect all wiring connections for tightness and corrosion. Loose connections can lead to poor performance or safety hazards.
- Environmental Check: Ensure the unit remains free from obstructions and is not exposed to excessive moisture or extreme temperatures beyond its operating range.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Lights Not Turning On
- Check Power: Ensure the power pack is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
- Manual Override: Verify the manual ON/OFF switch is in the 'TIMER' or 'ON' position.
- Timer Setting: Confirm the current time is set correctly and the ON tripper is in the desired position.
- Wiring: Inspect the low voltage wiring connections at the power pack and to the lights for any loose or corroded wires.
- Bulbs: Check if the landscape light bulbs are functional.
- Overload: Ensure the total wattage of connected lights does not exceed 88 watts. An overload can trip internal protection.
6.2 Timer Not Functioning
- Power: Confirm the unit is receiving power.
- Trippers: Ensure the ON and OFF trippers are correctly inserted and positioned on the dial.
- Manual Override: Make sure the manual switch is in the 'TIMER' position.
6.3 Buzzing Sound
A slight humming or buzzing sound from the transformer is normal during operation. However, if the buzzing is excessively loud or accompanied by other issues (e.g., lights flickering, unit overheating), disconnect power immediately and contact customer support.
