Setup
1. Unpacking
Carefully remove the clock radio and all accessories from the packaging. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.
2. Power Connection
Connect the AC power cord to the AC inlet on the back of the unit, then plug the other end into a standard wall outlet (230V AC, 50Hz). The unit will enter standby mode.
3. Setting the Clock
- In standby mode, press and hold the TIME SET button. The hour digits will flash.
- Press the HOUR button repeatedly to set the correct hour.
- Press the MINUTE button repeatedly to set the correct minute.
- Press TIME SET again to confirm and exit clock setting mode.
Operating Instructions
1. Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: Press the POWER button to turn the unit on or off (standby mode).
- Volume Control: Rotate the VOLUME knob to adjust the sound level.
2. Radio Operation (MW/FM)
- Press the FUNCTION button to select RADIO mode.
- Press the BAND button to select either FM or MW.

- To auto-scan for stations, press and hold TUNING + or TUNING - for a few seconds.
- For FM reception: Extend the FM wire antenna fully for optimal reception.
- For MW reception: The unit has a built-in ferrite bar antenna. Rotate the unit for best reception.
3. CD Player Operation
- Press the FUNCTION button to select CD mode.
- Open the CD compartment lid.
- Place a CD with the label side facing up into the CD tray.
- Close the CD compartment lid. The CD will begin playing automatically.
- Play/Pause: Press the PLAY/PAUSE button.
- Stop: Press the STOP button.
- Skip Tracks: Press the SKIP FORWARD or SKIP BACKWARD buttons.
- Programmable Playback: The unit supports 20-track programmable playback. Refer to the remote control section for detailed programming instructions.
4. Alarm Functions (Dual Alarm)
The GCD-R1950R features two independent alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2).
- In standby mode, press and hold the ALARM 1 SET or ALARM 2 SET button. The alarm hour digits will flash.
- Press HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set the desired alarm time.
- Press the respective ALARM SET button again to confirm the time.
- Press the ALARM MODE button repeatedly to select the wake-up source: BUZZER, RADIO, or CD.
- To activate/deactivate an alarm, press the ALARM ON/OFF button for the respective alarm. An indicator will appear on the display when active.
5. Sleep Timer
The sleep timer allows the unit to play for a set duration before automatically turning off.
- While the unit is playing (CD or Radio), press the SLEEP button repeatedly to cycle through available sleep times (e.g., 15, 30, 60, 90 minutes).
- The unit will automatically turn off after the selected time.
- To cancel the sleep timer, press the SLEEP button until "OFF" appears or turn the unit off manually.
6. Remote Control
The included 10-key remote control provides full functionality for the clock radio. Ensure the remote control has working batteries (2 x AAA, not included) and is pointed towards the front of the unit during use.
- Power: Turns the unit on/off.
- Function: Selects CD/Radio mode.
- Volume +/-: Adjusts volume.
