  1. Connect the AC-3VW AC Power Adapter to the DC IN port on the back of the CP-FXA10 cradle.
  2. Plug the AC adapter into a standard electrical outlet. The power indicator on the cradle may illuminate.

4.2 Inserting the Camera

The CP-FXA10 cradle requires a camera-specific adapter for proper fit and connection. This adapter is typically supplied with your compatible FinePix camera.

  1. Ensure the correct adapter for your camera model (e.g., A205, A210, A310, A330, A340, E510, E550) is securely placed in the cradle.
  2. Carefully align your FinePix digital camera with the adapter and the cradle's connector.
  3. Gently press the camera down until it is firmly seated in the cradle.

4.3 Connecting to a Personal Computer (PC)

  1. Connect one end of the supplied USB cable to the USB port on the CP-FXA10 cradle.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Ensure your camera is properly seated in the cradle and powered on (if required by your camera model).

5. Operating the Cradle

5.1 Charging the NH-10 Ni-MH Battery

When a compatible FinePix camera with an NH-10 Ni-MH battery pack is correctly seated in the cradle and the AC adapter is connected, the cradle will automatically begin charging the battery. The smart power system detects battery type and prevents charging of alkaline batteries, protecting the camera.

  • Charging time for the NH-10 Ni-MH battery pack is approximately two hours.
  • Refer to your camera's manual for specific battery indicator behavior during charging.

5.2 Image Transfer to PC

With the camera in the cradle and connected to a PC via USB, you can easily transfer images:

  1. Turn on your computer and the camera (if not already on).
  2. Your computer should recognize the camera as a removable storage device.
  3. Use your computer's file explorer or Fujifilm's FinePix Viewer 4.0 software to access and download images.

5.3 PC-Cam Mode

The cradle supports PC-Cam conferencing mode when used with compatible FinePix cameras and the FinePix Viewer 4.0 software package. This allows for video conferencing capabilities through your computer.

  • Install FinePix Viewer 4.0 software on your computer.
  • Connect the camera to the cradle and the cradle to your PC via USB.
  • Follow the instructions within the FinePix Viewer 4.0 software to activate and use PC-Cam mode.

5.4 Video Playback on Television

The CP-FXA10 cradle features a video out port, allowing you to view AVI Motion JPEG movie clips captured by your FinePix camera on a television set.

  1. Connect a video cable (not included with cradle, typically supplied with camera) from the cradle's video out port to the video input on your television.
  2. Select the appropriate video input channel on your television.
  3. Use your camera's playback functions to view movies on the television screen.
  4. Movies can also be recorded to a VCR if connected appropriately.

6. Maintenance

  • Clean the cradle regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Keep the connectors free from dust and debris to ensure reliable connections.
  • Store the cradle in a cool, dry place when not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Cradle not powering on: Ensure the AC adapter is securely connected to both the cradle and a working power outlet.
  • Battery not charging: Verify that the camera is correctly seated in the cradle with its specific adapter. Confirm that the battery is an NH-10 Ni-MH type.
