Important Safety Note
IMPORTANT: The thermometer probe will be hot after use. Always use potholders or oven mitts when handling a hot thermometer.
Calibration
If the thermometer is dropped or appears to be out of calibration, it can be reset using the recalibration method. The calibration button is located on the front face of the thermometer, labeled CAL.
- Prepare a glass of crushed ice and fill it with cold water. Stir the mixture and let it sit for a few minutes to ensure the water temperature reaches 32°F (0°C).
- Insert the thermometer probe into the center of the ice water, ensuring the probe does not touch the bottom or sides of the glass.
- Wait for the reading to stabilize. If the reading is not 32°F (0°C), press and hold the CAL button until the display shows 32.0°F (0.0°C).
- Release the button. The thermometer is now recalibrated.
