5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.

4. Replace the battery compartment cover, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

5.2. AC Power Connection

1. Insert the small plug of the included AC adaptor into the AC Adaptor Jack on the side or back of the radio.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Turning On and Adjusting Volume

1. Rotate the Power ON/OFF/Volume Control knob clockwise until you hear a click and the radio turns on.
2. Continue rotating the knob to adjust the volume to your desired level.

6.2. AM/FM Radio Operation

1. Slide the Band Selector Switch to either the 'AM' or 'FM' position.
2. For FM reception, extend the telescopic antenna fully and adjust its position for optimal signal. For AM reception, the radio has a built-in antenna; rotate the entire unit for best reception.
3. Rotate the Tuning Knob to select your desired radio station.

6.3. Weather Band (WB) Operation

The MR-600 receives 24-hour weather and marine forecasts on all 7 NOAA weather band frequencies.

1. Ensure the radio is powered on and the Band Selector Switch is set to 'WB'.
2. Slide the Storm Alert Switch to the 'ON' position.
3. The radio will monitor for NOAA weather alerts. If an alert is broadcast, the unit will emit an audible alarm and automatically tune to the weather broadcast.
4. To silence the alarm, slide the Storm Alert Switch to 'OFF' or change the band.
