Setup

1. Battery Installation

  2. Carefully place a microcassette tape into the compartment with the open side facing the recording head.
  3. Close the cassette compartment door until it clicks into place.

Operating Instructions

Recording

  1. Manual Recording:
    • Ensure the Voice Active System (VAS) switch is in the OFF position.
    • Press the RECORD button. The REC indicator will illuminate.
    • Speak clearly into the built-in microphone.
    • To stop recording, press the STOP button.
  2. Voice Activated Recording (VAS):
    • Slide the Voice Active System (VAS) switch to the ON position.
    • Press the RECORD button. The REC indicator will illuminate, but the tape will only advance when sound is detected.
    • The recorder will automatically pause when there is no sound and resume when sound is present.
    • To stop recording, press the STOP button.

Playback

  1. Ensure a recorded microcassette is inserted.
  2. Press the PLAY button. Audio will play through the built-in speaker.
  3. Adjust the volume using the Volume Control.
  4. To stop playback, press the STOP button.

Fast Forward and Rewind

  • To fast forward, press the FF button.
  • To rewind, press the REW button.
  • Press the STOP button to halt fast forward or rewind.

Using Headphones (if applicable)

If your model includes a headphone jack (3.5mm), you can connect standard headphones for private listening. The built-in speaker will typically mute when headphones are connected.

Maintenance
