Setup

Before using your Breadman TR456 Panini Maker for the first time, follow these steps:

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the panini maker and all packaging materials.
  2. Clean Plates: Wipe the nonstick cooking plates with a damp cloth or sponge. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  3. Dry: Ensure the plates are completely dry before plugging in the appliance.
  4. Position: Place the panini maker on a stable, heat-resistant, and dry surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.
  5. Initial Heat-Up: For the first use, it is recommended to operate the unit empty for approximately 5-10 minutes to burn off any manufacturing residues. A slight odor or smoke may be present; this is normal.
  6. Cool Down: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely after the initial heat-up.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to prepare your panini:

  1. Preheat: Close the lid of the panini maker and plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. The red LED light will illuminate, indicating the unit is powered on. The green LED light will turn on when the unit has reached its optimal cooking temperature.
  2. Prepare Sandwich: While the unit is preheating, assemble your sandwich. For best results, use bread that is not too thick and ingredients that are evenly distributed.
  3. Place Sandwich: Once the green LED light indicates readiness, carefully open the lid using the cool-touch handle. Place your sandwich(es) onto the bottom grilling plate. The floating hinge system will adjust to the thickness of your sandwich.
  4. Grill: Gently close the lid. Do not force the lid down. The weight of the top plate will press the sandwich.
  5. Monitor Cooking: Grill for approximately 3-8 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the filling is heated through. Cooking time may vary depending on the ingredients and desired crispness.
  6. Remove Sandwich: Once cooked, carefully open the lid. Use a heat-resistant plastic or wooden spatula to remove the sandwich. Do not use metal utensils as they can damage the nonstick coating.
  7. Repeat or Unplug: If making more sandwiches, close the lid to maintain heat. If finished, unplug the unit from the wall outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
