Setup
1. Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove the DVD player and all accessories from the packaging. Verify that all components are present and undamaged. If any items are missing or damaged, contact your retailer.
2. Connecting to a Television
The AD-1225 offers multiple video output options:
- Component Video (YPbPr): For the best picture quality, connect the component video cables (red, green, blue) from the DVD player's "COMPONENT VIDEO OUT" jacks to the corresponding "COMPONENT VIDEO IN" jacks on your television.
- S-Video: Connect an S-Video cable from the DVD player's "S-VIDEO OUT" jack to the "S-VIDEO IN" jack on your television.
- Composite Video: Connect a composite video cable (yellow) from the DVD player's "VIDEO OUT" jack to the "VIDEO IN" jack on your television.
Ensure your television is set to the correct input source (e.g., Component, S-Video, Video 1) after connecting.
3. Connecting to an Audio System
For immersive surround sound, connect the digital audio output to a compatible AV receiver:
- Digital Coaxial Audio: Connect a digital coaxial cable from the DVD player's "DIGITAL COAXIAL OUT" jack to the corresponding input on your AV receiver.
- Digital Optical Audio: Connect a digital optical cable from the DVD player's "DIGITAL OPTICAL OUT" jack to the corresponding input on your AV receiver.
Alternatively, for stereo audio, connect RCA audio cables (red for right, white for left) from the DVD player's "AUDIO OUT" jacks to the "AUDIO IN" jacks on your television or stereo receiver.
4. Power Connection
Plug the AC power cord into the DVD player's power input, then plug the other end into a standard electrical outlet. The unit is designed for NTSC video compatibility.
Operating Instructions
1. Basic Disc Playback
- Press the POWER button on the front panel or remote control to turn on the player.
- Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the disc tray.
- Place a disc (DVD, CD, MP3 CD, WMA CD, JPEG CD, Kodak Picture CD) gently into the tray with the label side facing up.
- Press the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the tray. The player will automatically begin playback or display the disc menu.
- Use the navigation buttons (UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT) and ENTER on the remote control to select menu options.
2. Playback Controls
- PLAY (►): Starts or resumes playback.
- PAUSE (∥∥): Pauses playback. Press again to resume.
- STOP (■): Stops playback. Press once to stop at the current position (resume play), press twice to stop completely.

4. Audio Settings
The AD-1225 supports Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel digital output. Access the audio setup menu to configure digital audio output settings to match your AV receiver's capabilities for optimal surround sound experience.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Unit
