4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Steaming Food

  1. Prepare your food by washing and cutting it into appropriate sizes.
  2. Place the food into the steam baskets. Ensure food is not packed too tightly to allow steam to circulate. For foods that may stain, use the dark extra bowl.
  3. Assemble the steamer as described in Section 3.2.
  4. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
  5. Set the timer to the desired cooking time. The indicator light will illuminate, and steaming will begin almost immediately due to the unique steam accelerator.
  6. When the set time has elapsed, the steamer will automatically switch off, and the timer will ring.
  7. Carefully remove the lid and steam baskets using oven mitts. Be aware of escaping steam.
  8. Serve the steamed food immediately.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your steamer.

  1. Before Cleaning: Always unplug the steamer from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Removable Parts: The steam baskets, dark extra bowl, rice basket, drip trays, and lid are all dishwasher safe. They can also be washed by hand in warm, soapy water, then rinsed and dried thoroughly.
  3. Base Unit: Wipe the exterior of the base unit with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the base unit in water or any other liquid.
  4. Water Reservoir and Heating Element: After each use, empty any remaining water from the reservoir. If mineral deposits (limescale) build up on the heating element, descaling is necessary.

5.1 Descaling

Limescale buildup can affect steaming efficiency. Descale your steamer regularly, depending on the hardness of your water and frequency of use.

Problem Possible Cause Solution

Food not cooking evenly or taking too long. Baskets overloaded; food cut too large; insufficient water; lid not sealed. Do not overload baskets. Cut food into smaller, uniform pieces. Ensure adequate water. Check lid placement.
