5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

1. Open the battery compartment cover located on the underside of the unit.
2. Insert two (2) AA alkaline batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: For optimal performance and extended playback time (up to 48 hours for MP3s), use high-quality alkaline batteries. Remove batteries if the unit is not used for a long period.

6.1 Loading a Disc

6.2 Basic Playback

• Skip Tracks: Press the SKIP (>>|) button to advance to the next track. Press the SKIP (|<<) button to go to the beginning of the current track or the previous track.
• Search: Press and hold the SKIP (>>|) or SKIP (|<<) button during playback to fast-forward or fast-reverse through the track.
• Volume Control: Adjust the volume using the VOLUME dial or buttons (location may vary).

6.3 MP3 CD Playback

When playing an MP3 CD, the unit can display ID3 tag information such as artist names, song titles, and album names on its 2-line, 10-character dot-matrix display. Navigation through folders and tracks on an MP3 CD is typically done using the SKIP buttons and potentially dedicated folder navigation buttons if available.

6.4 Hold Function

Slide the HOLD switch to the "ON" position to disable all control buttons. This prevents accidental operation during transport or when the player is in a bag. Slide the switch to "OFF" to re-enable the controls.

6.5 Resume Function

The player automatically remembers the last stopped position on a disc. When you press PLAY after stopping, playback will resume from that point.
