4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the speakers and all accessories from the packaging. Ensure all components are present:

  • Active Speaker (Right)
  • Passive Speaker (Left)
  • Speaker Cable (for connecting active to passive speaker)
  • Power Cord
  • Audio Cables (e.g., RCA stereo cable, digital optical/coaxial cable - may vary by region/package)

4.2 Placement

Place the speakers on a stable, flat surface such as a desk or shelf. For optimal stereo imaging, position the speakers equidistant from your listening position and spaced appropriately apart. Avoid placing them too close to walls or corners, which can affect bass response.

4.3 Connections

Ensure the speakers are powered off before making any connections.

  • Connecting the Passive Speaker: Connect the supplied speaker cable from the speaker output terminals on the active (right) speaker to the input terminals on the passive (left) speaker. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -).
  • Digital Audio Input: Connect your digital audio source (e.g., PC, CD player, game console) to one of the digital input terminals (optical or coaxial) on the rear of the active speaker using an appropriate digital audio cable.
  • Analog Audio Input: Connect your analog audio source (e.g., PC, smartphone, turntable with pre-amp) to the RCA stereo analog input terminals on the rear of the active speaker using an RCA stereo audio cable.
  • Subwoofer Output: If you wish to add an external subwoofer, connect it to the RCA monaural subwoofer output terminal on the rear of the active speaker.
  • Headphone Output: For private listening, plug your headphones into the 3.5mm stereo headphone jack on the front panel of the active speaker.

4.4 Power Connection

After all audio connections are made, connect the power cord to the active speaker's power input and then to a suitable AC power outlet (100V, 50/60Hz).

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your speakers, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the speaker cabinets with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish.
  • Dust: Regularly dust the speaker grilles and drivers using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment.
  • Environment: Avoid exposing the speakers to direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, high humidity, or excessive dust. Ensure adequate ventilation around the speakers.
  • Cables: Periodically check all cables for any signs of wear or damage. Replace damaged cables immediately.
