Setup

Battery Installation

The TI-30X IIB calculator is powered by one Lithium metal battery. To install or replace the battery:

1. Turn the calculator off.
2. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the calculator.
3. Using a small screwdriver, carefully remove the screws securing the battery cover.
4. Remove the cover and insert the new Lithium metal battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
5. Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screws.

Initial Power On

Operating Instructions

Basic Calculations

Enter numbers and operations in the order they appear. For example, to calculate 5 + 3, press 5 + 3 =.

2-Line Display

The top line of the display shows the entered expression, and the bottom line shows the result. This allows for easy review of your input.

Direct Algebraic Entry (DAE)

The calculator uses DAE, meaning you enter expressions in the same order as they are written mathematically, following standard order of operations (PEMDAS/BODMAS).

Accessing Secondary Functions

Many keys have a secondary function printed above them. To access these functions, press the 2nd key (usually located in the top left) followed by the desired function key.

Memory Functions

The calculator has 5 variable memories (A, B, C, D, E). To use them:

• Store: Enter a value, press STO>, then press the variable key (e.g., A).
• Recall: Press RCL, then press the variable key (e.g., A).
• Clear: To clear a specific memory, store 0 into it. To clear all memories, consult the calculator's on-screen menu or specific clear function if available.
