Hardware Installation

  1. Power Off Devices: Disconnect power from your Cable/DSL modem and your computer.
  2. Connect Modem to Router: Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your Cable/DSL modem and the other end to the WAN port on the back of the DI-624 router.
  3. Connect Computer to Router: Connect another Ethernet cable from your computer's network adapter to one of the LAN ports (1, 2, 3, or 4) on the back of the DI-624 router. For wireless setup, this step can be skipped after initial configuration.
  4. Power On Modem: Connect the power adapter to your Cable/DSL modem and power it on. Wait for the modem's indicator lights to stabilize, indicating a successful connection.
  5. Power On Router: Connect the provided power adapter to the DI-624 router's power input and plug it into a wall outlet. The Power LED on the router should illuminate.
  6. Power On Computer: Power on your computer.

Initial Configuration (Web-Based Utility)

  1. Open a web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome) on the computer connected to the router.
  2. In the address bar, type http://192.168.0.1 (this is the default IP address for the DI-624) and press Enter.
  3. A login prompt will appear. The default username is admin and the default password field should be left blank. Click "Log In".
  4. Follow the on-screen setup wizard to configure your Internet connection settings (e.g., PPPoE, Dynamic IP, Static IP, depending on your ISP) and wireless network settings (SSID, security key). It is highly recommended to change the default administrator password for security.
