Introduction
The Culligan FM-15A Faucet Mount Filter provides advanced water filtration directly from your faucet. This system is designed to reduce various contaminants and improve water taste and odor for drinking and cooking. It features a simple diverter tab to switch between unfiltered tap water and filtered water.
Setup
No tools are required for the installation of the Culligan FM-15A faucet mount filter.
- Prepare Faucet: Remove the existing aerator from your sink faucet. Retain the gasket for potential use with adapters.
- Determine Adapter Needs:
- If your faucet has external threads, no adapter is typically needed. Proceed to step 3.
- If your faucet has internal threads, select the appropriate adapter from the included set. Screw the chosen adapter into your faucet.
- Attach Filter: Attach the Culligan FM-15A faucet filter to the faucet. Turn the swivel collar to tighten it securely under the faucet threads. Avoid using pliers to prevent overtightening.
- Flush Filter: Slowly turn on the cold water to about halfway open. Pull out the valve stem to direct water through the filter. It is essential to flush each new filter cartridge for 10 minutes to remove any carbon fines. These fines are not harmful but should be flushed out before consuming the filtered water.
- Initial Use: The valve stem will automatically return to the unfiltered position when the water is turned off. Allow the system to flush for approximately three seconds before each use. After the initial 10-minute flush, water can be run through the cartridge at full pressure.
You are now ready to enjoy fresh filtered Culligan water.

Operating Instructions
The Culligan FM-15A Faucet Mount Filter allows for easy switching between filtered and unfiltered water:
- Filtered Water: To obtain filtered water, turn on the cold water and pull out the diverter tab. Water will flow through the filter.
- Unfiltered Water: To obtain unfiltered tap water, push the diverter tab in.
Note that the filtered water stream may have a reduced flow rate compared to unfiltered tap water. This is normal for filtration systems.

Maintenance
- Filter Replacement: The filter cartridge should be replaced approximately every 2 months or after filtering 200 gallons of water, whichever comes first. Actual filter life may vary depending on water quality and usage.
- Replacement Cartridges: Replacement cartridges are available for purchase.
Troubleshooting
- Reduced Water Flow: If the filtered water flow significantly decreases before the recommended replacement period, the filter cartridge may be clogged due to high sediment levels in your water. Replace the filter cartridge.
- Leaking: Ensure all connections are tight but not overtightened. Check that gaskets are properly seated.
- Unusual Taste/Odor: If filtered water develops an unusual taste or odor, the filter cartridge may be exhausted. Replace the filter cartridge.
- Diverter Tab Issues: If the diverter tab does not switch properly, check for any obstructions or wear.
