Controls and Indicators:

Setup

Powering the Device:

  1. Using AC/DC Adapter:
    • Locate the DC input jack on the rewinder.
    • Connect the AC/DC power adapter to the DC input jack.
    • Plug the AC/DC power adapter into a standard wall outlet.
  2. Using AA Batteries:
    • Open the battery compartment cover, usually located on the bottom or side of the unit.
    • Insert four (4) fresh AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
    • Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to rewind or fast-forward your 8mm video cassettes:

  1. Insert Tape: Gently insert an 8mm video cassette into the tape compartment. Ensure the "FLAP SIDE FACES OUT" as indicated on the unit (refer to Figure 2). The tape should slide in smoothly. Do not force it.
  2. Select Direction:
    • For Fast Forward, press the FF button.
    • For Rewind, press the REW button.
    The corresponding LED direction indicator will illuminate.
  3. Start Operation: Press the START button. The rewinder will begin the selected operation. The LED indicator will remain lit during the process. The unit features an automatic brake control system for smooth operation.
  4. Stop Operation: To stop the tape movement at any time, press the STOP button. The tape will halt, and the LED indicator will turn off.
  5. Remove Tape: Once the operation is complete (or stopped), gently remove the 8mm video cassette from the compartment. The unit includes an auto tape leader rollback system to protect the tape.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your rewinder.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the unit. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the rewinder in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and dust. If storing for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
