3. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the KINYO 2-Way VHS Rewinder from its packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
- Placement: Place the rewinder on a stable, flat surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Power Connection: Insert the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. The unit is now ready for operation.
4. Operating Instructions
- Inserting a VHS Tape: Open the tape compartment lid. Gently insert a VHS tape into the compartment, ensuring it is seated correctly. Close the lid securely.
- Selecting Operation:
- To Rewind: Press the 'REW' button.
- To Fast Forward: Press the 'FF' button.
- LED Indicators: The LED indicators will illuminate to show the active operation (rewind or fast forward).
- Tape Counter: The 3-digit tape counter will display the tape's position during operation. This counter can be reset to zero by pressing the 'RESET' button.
- Stopping Operation: To stop the tape at any point, press the 'STOP' button.

Some rewinders may not automatically stop when the tape reaches its end. It is recommended to monitor the rewinder during operation and manually stop the unit once the tape is fully rewound or fast-forwarded to prevent potential motor strain or tape damage.
5. Maintenance
- Cleaning the Exterior: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the unit. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Cleaning the Tape Path: Periodically inspect the tape path for dust or debris. Use a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol to gently clean any visible residue on the tape guides or rollers. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.
- Storage: When not in use, store the rewinder in a cool, dry place, away from extreme temperatures and humidity.
6. Troubleshooting
- Unit Does Not Power On:
- Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into both the unit and a working electrical outlet.
- Check if the outlet is functional by plugging in another device.
- Tape Does Not Rewind/Fast Forward:
- Verify that the VHS tape is inserted correctly and the compartment lid is fully closed.
- Ensure the correct operation button (REW/FF) is pressed.
- Check if the tape itself is damaged or jammed.
- Tape Gets Stuck or Pulled Off Reel:
- This can occur if the tape is old, damaged, or if the rewinder is not stopped promptly at the end of the tape.
- Carefully remove the tape. Avoid using excessive force.
- Inspect the tape for damage before re-inserting or trying another tape.
- LED Indicators Not Working:
- If the unit is otherwise functioning, this may indicate an issue with the indicator lights. If the unit is not functioning, refer to 'Unit Does Not Power On'.
If troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, please contact customer support or a qualified technician.
