5. Setup

5.1 Connecting to a Television

Choose one of the following video connection methods based on your television's available inputs for the best possible picture quality:

  1. Component Video Connection (Best Quality): Connect the Y, Pb, and Pr output jacks on the DVD player to the corresponding Y, Pb, and Pr input jacks on your television using component video cables.
  2. S-Video Connection (Better Quality): Connect the S-Video output jack on the DVD player to the S-Video input jack on your television using an S-Video cable.
  3. Composite Video Connection (Good Quality): Connect the VIDEO output jack on the DVD player to the VIDEO input jack on your television using a composite video cable (yellow connector).

5.2 Connecting to an Audio System

Choose one of the following audio connection methods:

  1. Coaxial Digital Audio Connection (for Surround Sound): Connect the COAXIAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUT jack on the DVD player to the COAXIAL DIGITAL IN jack on your Dolby Digital or DTS compatible A/V receiver using a coaxial digital audio cable. This allows for 5.1-channel surround sound.
  2. Analog Audio Connection (for Stereo Sound): Connect the AUDIO L and R output jacks on the DVD player to the corresponding AUDIO L and R input jacks on your stereo amplifier or television using RCA audio cables.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Unit

Wipe the exterior of the DVD player with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive pads, scouring powder, or solvents such as alcohol or benzene, as these may damage the finish.

7.2 Cleaning Discs

Wipe discs with a soft, lint-free cloth from the center outwards. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners. Store discs in their cases to prevent scratches and dust accumulation.
