5. Setup

5.1 Connecting Power

5.2 Connecting an Antenna or Cable TV

  1. Connect a 75-ohm coaxial cable from your antenna or cable TV wall jack to the "Antenna/Cable In" jack on the rear of the unit.
  2. If using an outdoor antenna, ensure it is properly grounded.

5.3 Initial Power On and Channel Scan

  1. Press the Power button on the front panel or remote control to turn on the unit.
  2. The first time you power on, the unit may prompt you to perform an automatic channel scan. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. If not prompted, access the TV menu (using the Menu button) and navigate to the "Channel Setup" or "Auto Scan" option to find available channels.
  4. Select your preferred language for the Tri-Lingual Onscreen Display (English, Spanish, French).

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 TV Operation

  • Power On/Off: Press the Power button.
  • Channel Selection: Use the Channel Up/Down buttons or the numeric keypad on the remote control.
  • Volume Adjustment: Use the Volume Up/Down buttons.
  • Input Selection: Press the Input/Source button to switch to TV mode or external AV inputs.
  • Menu Navigation: Press the Menu button to access settings for picture, sound, and channel setup. Use arrow buttons on the remote to navigate and Enter/OK to confirm.
  • Sleep Timer: Set the TV to automatically turn off after a specified period using the Sleep Timer function in the menu.

6.2 DVD Operation

  • Loading a Disc: Gently insert a DVD disc into the DVD slot with the label side facing up. The unit will automatically pull the disc in.
  • Playing a Disc: The DVD will typically begin playing automatically. If not, press the Play button.
  • Basic Controls: Use Play, Pause, Stop, Fast Forward, Rewind, and Skip buttons on the front panel or remote control.
  • Ejecting a Disc: Press the Eject button to remove the disc.
  • Switching to DVD Mode: If in TV mode, press the Input/Source button until "DVD" is selected.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Unit

  • Always unplug the unit from the power outlet before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces.
  • For the screen, use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with a screen cleaning solution. Do not spray liquid directly onto the screen.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.

  • Handle discs by their edges to avoid fingerprints.
  • Store discs in their cases when not in use.
