The George Foreman GR44TMR is an indoor electric grill designed for cooking family-sized meals. It features a divided top with independent electronic timers for each half, allowing you to cook two different foods simultaneously with separate timing. The grill utilizes top and bottom cooking surfaces with floating hinges to accommodate various food thicknesses evenly. Its sloped design and deep channels help drain fat into a removable drip tray.

Setup
- Unpack the Grill: Carefully remove all packaging materials, including any protective films or stickers from the grill surfaces and exterior.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the nonstick cooking plates with a damp cloth or sponge. Dry thoroughly. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.
- Position the Grill: Place the grill on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the grill for ventilation and to prevent heat damage to surrounding surfaces.
- Insert Drip Trays: Position the two included drip trays directly under the front of the grill, ensuring they are flush against the legs to catch any fat or liquids that drain from the cooking plates.
Operating Instructions
Preheating
- Ensure the drip trays are correctly positioned.
- Plug the grill into a standard electrical outlet.
- Press the "On/Off" button for the desired grilling section(s). The indicator light will illuminate, and the grill will begin to preheat.
- Allow approximately 5 minutes for the grill to reach its optimal cooking temperature. The grill will beep when preheated and ready for use.
Grilling Food
- Once preheated, carefully open the grill.
- Place your food onto the nonstick cooking plates. The grill features two independent cooking zones, allowing you to cook different items simultaneously.

- Setting Timers: Use the independent electronic timers for each section to set your desired cooking duration. Refer to the recipe booklet for recommended cooking times for various foods.
- The grill cooks from both the top and bottom simultaneously, significantly reducing cooking time.
- When the set time expires, the grill will beep to indicate cooking is complete.
- Carefully open the grill and remove your cooked food using a heat-resistant plastic or wooden utensil to avoid damaging the nonstick coating.
- After use, press the "On/Off" button(s) to turn off the grill and unplug it from the outlet.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Proper cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your grill and ensure optimal performance.

- Empty Drip Trays: Remove the drip trays and discard the collected fat. Wash the drip trays in warm, soapy water or place them in the dishwasher.
- Clean Cooking Plates:
- For easy cleaning, wipe the cooking plates while they are still warm (but not hot) with a damp paper towel or soft cloth.
- For more stubborn residue, use the included plastic spatula to gently scrape off food particles. Then wipe with a damp cloth.
- The grilling surfaces are designed to be dishwasher safe for thorough cleaning. Ensure they are completely cool before placing them in the dishwasher.
- Clean Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the grill with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish.
- Storage: Store the clean, dry grill in a safe, dry place. The cord can be wrapped underneath the unit for tidy storage.
Important: Never immerse the main unit, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Grill does not heat up. | Not plugged in; power switch not activated; power outage. | Ensure the grill is securely plugged into a working outlet. Press the "On/Off" button for the desired section. Check your household's power supply. |
| Food is sticking to the plates. | Nonstick coating wear; insufficient preheating; food not suitable for grilling without light oil. | Ensure the grill is fully preheated. For some foods, a light spray of cooking oil on the plates may be beneficial. If coating is significantly worn, consider replacement. |
| Food is cooking unevenly. | Grill not fully preheated; food thickness variation; improper placement. | Allow the grill to fully preheat until it beeps. Ensure food is placed centrally on the plates. The floating hinges are designed to accommodate thickness, but very uneven pieces may require adjustment. |
| Excessive smoke. | Fat/oil buildup on plates; very fatty food; drip tray full. | Clean the grill plates thoroughly before use. Ensure the drip trays are empty and correctly positioned. Trim excess fat from meats before grilling. |
