Setup Instructions
Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all packing materials are discarded properly before assembly.
Assembly
- Place the motor base on a clean, dry, and stable surface.
- Position the 24-ounce work bowl onto the motor base. Align the handle with the front of the base and turn the bowl clockwise until it locks securely into place.
- Carefully place the stainless steel blade onto the center post of the work bowl. Ensure it sits firmly.
- Secure the lid onto the work bowl. Align the tab on the lid with the handle of the work bowl and turn the lid clockwise until it locks. The unit will not operate unless the lid is properly locked.
Operating Instructions
Basic Operation
- Ensure the unit is properly assembled and plugged into a standard electrical outlet.
- Add your desired ingredients to the work bowl. Do not fill ingredients above the maximum fill line indicated on the bowl.
- For chopping softer ingredients such as herbs, garlic, onions, and cooked vegetables, press and hold the "CHOP" button.
- For grinding harder ingredients like nuts, spices, or hard cheese, press and hold the "GRIND" button. (Note: Grinding coffee beans is not recommended as the blade chops rather than grinds to a fine powder suitable for brewing.)
- Release the button to stop processing. Pulse for better control over consistency.
SmartPower Blade Function
The Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus features an innovative auto-reversing SmartPower blade. The sharp edge is used for chopping, while the blunt edge is used for grinding. The unit automatically selects the appropriate blade edge based on whether you press the "CHOP" or "GRIND" button.

Cleaning
- The work bowl, lid, and blade are dishwasher-safe. For best results and to prolong their lifespan, place them on the top rack of your dishwasher.

- Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling the unit or storing it.
Troubleshooting
Unit Does Not Turn On
- Check that the unit is securely plugged into a functional electrical outlet.

Ingredients Not Chopping Evenly
- Avoid overfilling the work bowl. Process ingredients in smaller batches if necessary.
- For optimal results, cut larger ingredients into approximately 1-inch pieces before placing them in the work bowl.
- Utilize the "PULSE" function (by repeatedly pressing and releasing the button) for better control over the consistency of your chopped ingredients.
Unit Overheats
- If the motor stops during operation due to overheating, unplug the unit immediately.
- Allow the food processor to cool down for at least 10 minutes before attempting to use it again.
