Setup

1. Inserting Batteries

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the recorder.
  2. Slide the cover open.

2. Inserting a Microcassette

  1. Press the EJECT button to open the cassette compartment.

Operating Instructions

Recording

  1. Ensure a microcassette is inserted and batteries are installed.
  2. Slide the RECORD switch to the "REC" position. The recording indicator light will illuminate.

  4. To stop recording, slide the RECORD switch to the "OFF" or "STOP" position.

Playback

  1. Press the PLAY button. Audio will be heard through the built-in speaker.

  3. To stop playback, press the STOP button.

Cue/Review Function

The Cue/Review function allows for quick scanning through recordings:

  • Cue: While playing, press and hold the FAST FORWARD button to quickly advance the tape with audible monitoring.
  • Review: While playing, press and hold the REWIND button to quickly reverse the tape with audible monitoring.

Recording Speed Selection

The S701 offers two recording speeds:

  • Slower Speed: Ideal for extended voice memos and note-taking, maximizing tape capacity.

To change the speed, locate the SPEED switch on the device and slide it to the desired setting.
