Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
• Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
• Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
• Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
• Ensure the lid is securely in place before operating the appliance.
• Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycles.

• Drip Coffee Side: Includes a water reservoir, filter basket for ground coffee, and a glass carafe with a warming plate.
• Espresso Side: Features a steam espresso boiler, portafilter with interchangeable filter baskets (single/double shot), espresso carafe, and a steam nozzle with frothing attachment.
• Control Panel: Buttons and indicators for power, brew strength (bold/standard for drip coffee), timer, and espresso/steam functions.
• Water Reservoirs: Separate reservoirs for drip coffee and espresso.
• Drip Tray: Removable tray for easy cleaning.

Setup Guide

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials. Ensure all components listed in the "Product Components" section are present.
2. Initial Cleaning: Wash all removable parts (carafes, filter baskets, portafilter, drip tray) in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
3. Positioning: Place the machine on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter. Ensure adequate ventilation around the machine.
4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
5. First Use Cycle (Drip Coffee):
   • Fill the drip coffee water reservoir with fresh, cold water to the maximum level.
   • Place the empty glass carafe on the warming plate.
   • Insert the empty filter basket into the drip coffee side.
   • Turn on the drip coffee function and allow a full cycle of water to run through. Discard the water.
6. First Use Cycle (Espresso):
   • Fill the espresso water reservoir with fresh, cold water to the maximum level.
   • Attach the empty portafilter (without coffee) to the espresso brew head.
   • Place the espresso carafe under the portafilter.
   • Turn on the espresso function and allow a full cycle of water to run through. Discard the water.

Operating Instructions

Brewing Drip Coffee

1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid on the drip coffee side and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water to your desired level. The carafe has markings to guide you.
2. Add Coffee Grounds: Insert a paper filter (or use the reusable filter) into the swing-out filter basket. Add your desired amount of ground coffee. Close the filter basket.

3. Place Carafe: Ensure the glass carafe is correctly positioned on the warming plate.
4. Select Brew Strength (Optional): If your model has a brew strength selector (e.g., "Bold" or "Standard"), choose your preference. Bold setting typically slows the brewing process for a richer flavor.
5. Start Brewing: Press the "Coffee" power button. The indicator light will illuminate, and brewing will begin.
6. Pause Feature: The machine features a 20-second pause function, allowing you to temporarily remove the carafe for a mid-brew pour without dripping.
7. Keep Warm: After brewing, the warming plate will keep the coffee hot for a period.

Brewing Espresso

1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid on the espresso side and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water.

2. Prepare Portafilter: Select the appropriate filter basket (single or double shot) and place it into the portafilter. Add finely ground espresso coffee. Tamp the coffee firmly using the tamper tool (if included).
3. Attach Portafilter: Align the portafilter with the brew head and twist it firmly to the right until it is securely locked in place.

4. Place Carafe: Place the espresso carafe (or espresso cups) under the portafilter spouts.
5. Start Brewing: Press the "Espresso" power button. The indicator light will blink while heating, then become steady when ready. Press the "Espresso" button again to start brewing.
6. Stop Brewing: Manually press the "Espresso" button again to stop the flow once the desired amount of espresso is brewed.

Frothing Milk (for Cappuccinos/Lattes)

1. Prepare Milk: Fill a metal frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to about one-third full.
2. Activate Steam: Turn the steam control knob to the "Steam" position. The indicator light will blink while heating, then become steady when ready.
3. Purge Steam Wand: Briefly open the steam valve to release any condensed water. Close the valve.
4. Froth Milk: Immerse the steam nozzle just below the surface of the milk. Open the steam valve slowly. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam.

5. Stop Steaming: Once desired foam is achieved, close the steam valve and remove the pitcher.
6. Clean Steam Wand: Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying. Briefly open the steam valve again to clear any internal milk.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee machine. Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

• Daily Cleaning:
  • Wash the drip coffee carafe, espresso carafe, filter baskets, and portafilter in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  • Empty and rinse the drip tray.
  • Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
  • Clean the steam wand immediately after each use as described in the "Frothing Milk" section.
• Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits can build up in the machine, affecting performance. Descale your machine every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.
  • Use a commercial descaling solution specifically designed for coffee machines, or a solution of white vinegar and water (1:1 ratio).
  • Follow the descaling instructions provided with your descaling solution or refer to the detailed descaling procedure in the full product manual.
  • Run several cycles of clear water through both the drip coffee and espresso sides after descaling to rinse thoroughly.
