2.2 Board Placement and Initial Setup
- Unfold the game board and place it on a flat surface.
- Place the Good Witch and Bad Witch cards face down on their designated spaces on the board.
- Separate the Title Deed cards by property group and place them next to the board.
- The Bank: One player is selected as the Banker. The Banker is responsible for all money, Title Deeds, Farmhouses, and Emerald Palaces not yet in play. The Banker may also play, but must keep their personal funds separate from the Bank's.
2.3 Money Distribution
Each player receives the following starting money from the Bank:
- Two $500 bills
- Two $100 bills
- Two $50 bills
- Six $20 bills
- Five $10 bills
- Five $5 bills
- Five $1 bills
2.4 Choosing Tokens and Starting Position
Each player chooses one of the unique pewter tokens. All tokens start on the 'GO' space.
3. Operating (How to Play)
3.1 Objective
The objective of The Wizard Of Oz Monopoly is to be the last player remaining with money, by bankrupting all other players through rent collection and strategic property development.
3.2 Game Flow
Players take turns in clockwise order. To start a turn, roll both dice. The player with the highest roll goes first. On subsequent turns, the player to the left of the current player takes their turn.
- Roll and Move: Roll the two dice and move your token clockwise around the board the number of spaces indicated by the sum of the dice.
- Landing on a Space: The action you take depends on the space your token lands on:
- Unowned Property: You may buy the property from the Bank for the price printed on that space. If you choose not to buy it, the Banker immediately auctions it to the highest bidder.
- Owned Property: If the property is owned by another player, you must pay rent to that player as indicated on the Title Deed card. Rent increases if the property is part of a color set or has Farmhouses/Emerald Palaces.
- Good Witch or Bad Witch: Draw the top card from the respective pile and follow its instructions. Return the card to the bottom of the pile unless instructed otherwise.
- Tax Spaces: Pay the indicated tax to the Bank.
- Go: When you pass or land on 'GO', collect $200 from the Bank.
- Jail: If you land on 'Go to Jail', you immediately move your token to the 'In Jail' space. You do not collect $200 for passing 'GO'. You can get out of Jail by rolling doubles, using a 'Get Out of Jail Free' card, or paying a fine.
- Free Parking: This is a safe space; no action is taken.
- Doubles: If you roll doubles, you take your turn as usual, then roll the dice again for another turn. If you roll doubles three times in a row, you immediately go to Jail.
- End of Turn: Once you have completed your action, the turn passes to the next player.

3.3 Building Farmhouses and Emerald Palaces
Once you own all properties in a color group, you can begin building Farmhouses and Emerald Palaces on those properties. You must build evenly across the properties in a group. You can build up to four Farmhouses on each property, then upgrade to an Emerald Palace. Building increases the rent collected from other players.
3.4 Mortgaging Properties
If you need money, you can mortgage properties to the Bank. Mortgaged properties do not collect rent. To unmortgage a property, you must pay the mortgage value plus 10% interest.
3.5 Bankruptcy
If you owe more money than you can pay, even after selling Farmhouses/Emerald Palaces and mortgaging properties, you are bankrupt and out of the game. All your assets are turned over to the player you owe money to, or to the Bank if you owe the Bank.
4. Maintenance
Proper care and storage will ensure the longevity of your Wizard Of Oz Monopoly game.
- Storage: Always store all game components back in the original box. Keep the box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent warping of the board or fading of colors.
- Cleaning: The game board and cards can be gently wiped with a dry, soft cloth if needed. Avoid using liquids or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the printed surfaces.
- Handling: Handle all game pieces, especially the pewter tokens and money, with care to prevent bending, tearing, or loss.
- Component Integrity: Periodically check for any signs of wear or damage. If any components are damaged, consider contacting customer support for replacement options.
